Spanish tech company Submer announced plans to make India a key manufacturing hub aimed at supporting growth across Asia. Recognizing India’s expanding digital infrastructure, the firm intends to help build a strong and sustainable data center environment within the country.
Based in Barcelona, Submer specializes in eco-friendly, high-efficiency data center solutions using advanced liquid cooling technology. Their products cater to AI, high-performance computing, hyperscale, enterprise, edge computing, and emerging workloads.
“India represents the future of data centers and AI development. We see it as the fastest-growing market globally, which is why we have chosen to establish a presence here,” said Dev Tyagi, President of Submer India. He added that the company plans to invest heavily in phases and bring its ecosystem partners along to expand operations.
Submer will launch a manufacturing plant in India to produce and export its cooling systems throughout Asia. It also aims to partner with OEMs and ODMs to integrate its liquid cooling technology into various computing infrastructures.
As part of its growth strategy, Submer will introduce training programs to create over 5,000 jobs in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing sectors over the coming years. Collaborations with local skill development agencies and state governments are underway, with specialized training expected to begin within the next 6 to 12 months. Mr Tyagi also mentioned ongoing talks with the Indian government regarding collaboration on semiconductor development and deployment.
Looking forward, the company plans to open customer experience centers, strengthen research and development efforts, and grow its software engineering team in India. “We believe India will become our largest market, making it the ideal location for expanding our operations across Asia,” Mr Tyagi concluded.
