Ushering in a new phase for premium riding gear in India, SMK, the premium helmet brand from Studds Accessories Ltd., unveiled its latest portfolio at India Bike Week 2025. The showcase included the India launch of the SMK Cygnus helmet, the introduction of globally acclaimed models, and the presentation of a complete riding jacket collection. Studds Accessories Ltd. is the world’s largest two-wheeler helmet manufacturer by volume in calendar year 2024, according to a CARE Report.
The SMK Cygnus emerged as the centrepiece of the showcase and was introduced as the brand’s most advanced helmet to date. Designed with a 180-degree rotating chin bar, the helmet allows riders to switch effortlessly between full-face and open-face configurations. This flip-back mechanism enables the helmet to adapt to different riding postures, offering a compact aerodynamic profile for sport riding and enhanced comfort for upright cruising. Among the few helmets in India to receive P/J certification, Cygnus has been engineered for riders who prioritise safety, build quality, and contemporary styling.
The helmet combines an Energy Impact Resistant Thermoplastic shell with a multi-density EPS liner for effective impact absorption. It features a wide anti-scratch visor compatible with Pinlock® MaxVision 120, an integrated sun visor, advanced ventilation, a double D-ring retention system, and a removable hypoallergenic liner. Cygnus will be available in multiple colour options, two shell sizes, and a wide range of fit options, with prices expected to range between ₹17,000 and ₹20,000 at full-scale market launch.
In addition to Cygnus, SMK announced the Indian introduction of Ares and Nova, two helmets that have received strong acceptance in international markets. Ares offers a sporty design with a detachable sun peak and integrated sun visor, while Nova features an eyeglass-friendly fit and an ultra-wide, optically corrected field of vision. Both models balance aerodynamic design, robust construction, and everyday comfort, with pricing positioned to make advanced safety more accessible to Indian riders.
SMK also showcased additions to its demi-jet range with Delta City and Delta Tour, designed for urban commuting and long-distance touring respectively, along with new graphic themes across select models. The brand further displayed its full riding jacket lineup, covering summer, touring, winter, and women-specific options. All jackets are CE Level A certified and designed to deliver protection, comfort, and versatility across riding conditions, reinforcing SMK’s focus on safety-led premium riding solutions.
