Juniper Green Energy Limited has emerged as the successful bidder for 230 MW in the Solar Energy Corporation of India’s (SECI) 1,000 MW Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) Round-the-Clock (RTC) renewable energy tender. The company secured the capacity at a tariff of ₹5.26 per unit through SECI’s e-reverse auction. The Letter of Award is expected to be issued within the timelines specified in the tender documents.
The latest win expands Juniper Green Energy’s presence in the growing FDRE and RTC renewable energy market and adds to its portfolio of projects designed to provide reliable clean power through a combination of solar, wind and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). The project will be backed by a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with SECI. The Scheduled Commercial Operation Date is set at 24 months from the effective date of the PPA.
Under the tender requirements, the project will have to meet specified Delivered Firm Round-the-Clock (DFR) commitments. These include a minimum DFR of 90% during designated peak hours, 50%-60% during solar hours and 70% during non-solar, non-peak hours. Juniper Green Energy plans to use its integrated capabilities across renewable generation and battery storage to meet the required delivery commitments and provide a more consistent supply of renewable electricity.
Commenting on the development, Ankush Malik, Whole Time Director and Chief Executive Officer, Juniper Green Energy Limited, said, “This successful bid marks another important milestone in our journey of building large-scale, reliable renewable energy solutions for India’s evolving power needs. Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy is becoming increasingly important for enabling round-the-clock clean power, and this project strengthens our position in this emerging segment. We remain focused on developing high-quality renewable energy assets that support India’s energy transition and create long-term value for stakeholders.”
