Hindustan Zinc, the world’s leading integrated zinc producer and one of the top global silver suppliers, is presenting a technology-driven and sustainability-focused showcase at the 44th India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2025 in New Delhi. Located in the Mining Pavilion at Bharat Mandapam, the exhibit underscores how critical minerals, advanced mining technologies, and zinc-based corrosion protection are essential to India’s infrastructure development, energy transition, and mineral independence. The display is closely aligned with the national theme “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat,” reflecting the company’s commitment to building a stronger and future-ready nation.

The showcase immerses visitors in Hindustan Zinc’s digitalised mining and smelting operations from Rajasthan, offering an inside view of modern extraction, processing, and sustainability practices. A key attraction is an interactive RFID-enabled installation that brings the significance of minerals such as zinc, silver, and lead to life through real-time data and visual storytelling. At the inauguration, Union Minister of Coal and Mines Shri G. Kishan Reddy experienced these innovations firsthand while exploring the company’s wide product portfolio.

Arun Misra, CEO of Hindustan Zinc, emphasised that India’s journey toward becoming a developed nation will rely heavily on critical minerals, robust infrastructure, and a technologically advanced industrial base. He noted that the company is committed to supporting this transformation through eco-efficient mining, digital operations, and a strong focus on sustainability. Visitors can also explore a VR-based tour of the Rampura Agucha Mine and Chanderiya Smelter, providing a close look at cutting-edge systems, process automation, and environmental stewardship that position the company among the world’s most sustainable producers.

The product zone features Special High Grade Zinc, EcoZen—Asia’s first low-carbon zinc—premium silver, zinc ore, and demonstrations of galvanization’s vital role in preventing corrosion, a challenge that costs the nation nearly 5% of its GDP each year. Through the “Zung Ke Khilaaf Zinc 2.0” campaign, the company is raising public awareness on the importance of galvanization in strengthening infrastructure, supported by interactive tools, social experiments, and quizzes designed to engage audiences of all ages.

Beyond technology and products, the showcase highlights the company’s social impact programs, especially its work in rural empowerment and women-led entrepreneurship. Through the Sakhi initiative, visitors can explore locally made products—from spices to snacks—crafted by self-help groups in Rajasthan. The Upaya section features handcrafted textiles by regional artisans, demonstrating Hindustan Zinc’s commitment to inclusive and market-linked skill development.

With over five decades of leadership in mining and smelting, a strong global presence, and one of the industry’s lowest production costs, Hindustan Zinc remains central to India’s critical mineral strategy. Its participation at IITF 2025 reinforces its mission to drive national resilience, sustainability, and technological advancement while contributing to long-term socio-economic progress.

Hindustan Zinc Limited, part of the Vedanta Group, is the world’s largest integrated zinc producer and among the top five silver producers globally.
