East Coast Railway (ECoR), Sambalpur Division, has awarded a contract worth ₹2.12 crore to MIC Electronics Limited for the upgrade of passenger information systems across key railway stations. The project involves the deployment of advanced Coach Information Boards (CIBs) and Train Information Boards (TIBs) at stations including Bargarh Road, Nawapara Road, Junagarh Road, Ambodala, and Rengali. The initiative aims to enhance real-time communication, improve passenger convenience, and strengthen operational efficiency across the division.
The scope of work includes the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of digital display systems, along with central data control units and integrated announcement systems. All installations will comply with the standards set by the Railway Design and Standards Organisation (RDSO), ensuring reliability and continuous 24×7 operation.
The project is scheduled for completion within six months from the issuance of the Letter of Acceptance. As part of the agreement, MIC Electronics will provide a performance guarantee equivalent to 5% of the contract value and a 12-month warranty period post-commissioning, along with on-ground technical support.
