Copeland has completed the acquisition of Dickson, a Chicago-based provider of environmental monitoring and compliance technology for healthcare and life sciences applications. The acquisition brings together Dickson’s cloud-based monitoring platform with Copeland’s controls, monitoring and enterprise software capabilities. The combined portfolio is designed to help customers improve visibility, compliance and performance across temperature-sensitive supply chains.
Growing regulatory requirements across the pharmaceutical and life sciences cold chain are increasing the need for continuous monitoring from manufacturing through storage, transportation and final delivery. Copeland said the acquisition will strengthen its ability to support customers across these stages.
“We are pleased to welcome our new colleagues from Dickson into Copeland,” said Ross B Shuster, CEO of Copeland. “The acquisition of Dickson further strengthens our ability to serve customers across every stage of the healthcare and life sciences cold chain, from pharmaceutical manufacturing through distribution and patient care.”
Dickson provides environmental monitoring and compliance solutions for highly regulated environments. Its technology supports applications across biotechnology manufacturing, pharmaceutical distribution, healthcare, retail pharmacy and medical device operations.
The combined solutions will provide monitoring and software capabilities for customers managing temperature-sensitive products. By connecting environmental monitoring with compliance and enterprise software, the companies aim to provide greater visibility into conditions affecting products throughout their supply chains. The technologies are also intended to help customers identify temperature and environmental issues at an early stage. This can help reduce the risk of product damage and losses involving pharmaceuticals, food and other temperature-sensitive products.
“Our customers operate in highly regulated environments where precision, compliance and visibility are essential,” said Rick Weiler, President and CEO of Dickson. “By joining Copeland, we are bringing together complementary technologies and expertise that support the monitoring and protection of temperature-sensitive products across increasingly complex supply chains.”
The acquisition expands Copeland’s portfolio for healthcare and life sciences applications while adding Dickson’s environmental monitoring capabilities to its existing controls and software offering. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
