Copeland, a global leader in compression technologies and control solutions, has released its second annual Global Impact Report, outlining progress made during Fiscal Year 2025 (FY25) across environmental sustainability, workplace safety and innovation. The report highlights advancements aligned with the company’s Purpose, Performance and People framework, reflecting its long-term strategy to integrate sustainability across operations and product development.

During FY25, Copeland reported a 20 per cent year-over-year reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions, moving closer to its Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)-validated goal of a 55 per cent absolute reduction by FY33, using FY23 as the baseline. The company also sourced 58 per cent of its global electricity consumption from renewable energy through a combination of procurement agreements and onsite solar installations.

The company continued to invest in innovation, allocating more than 4 per cent of annual revenue to engineering, research and new product development. Copeland also improved development efficiency, reducing average product testing and engineering cycle times by 15 per cent. These improvements are aimed at accelerating the delivery of energy-efficient and low-emission technologies across heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), refrigeration and industrial applications.

Workplace safety and employee engagement also showed measurable improvement. Copeland reduced its global Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) by 22 per cent to 0.21, remaining significantly below industry benchmarks. Employee engagement scores rose to above the 90th percentile compared with manufacturing industry standards, reflecting strengthened organisational culture and workforce participation.

The company’s progress aligns with broader global shifts toward decarbonisation, adoption of low-global warming potential refrigerants and improved resilience in cold chain infrastructure supporting food and pharmaceutical supply chains.

Commenting on the report, Tracy Reiter, Chief Transformation and Sustainability Officer at Copeland, said, “Sustainability delivers the greatest impact when it is embedded into daily operations and product innovation. While our Science Based Targets initiative commitments define our long-term direction, our near-term progress is driven by applying disciplined operational practices across the value chain. By linking operational efficiency with environmental performance, we are developing solutions that help customers achieve their own energy and sustainability goals.”

Copeland continues to focus on advancing technologies that support energy efficiency and emissions reduction across global markets. The company emphasises collaboration with customers and partners to deliver scalable solutions that address evolving environmental and regulatory requirements.

With more than 100 years of engineering expertise, Copeland operates in over 40 countries and employs approximately 18,000 people worldwide. Its technologies are used in more than 200 million installations globally across HVAC, refrigeration, cold chain logistics and industrial systems. The company remains focused on enabling the energy transition while protecting temperature-sensitive products and improving efficiency across critical infrastructure systems.
