AM Group has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Invest UP, Government of Uttar Pradesh, to establish a 1-gigawatt high-performance AI compute hub in Greater Noida. The proposed project represents an estimated investment of approximately USD 25 billion and will be developed in phases, with initial capacity expected by 2028 and full deployment targeted by 2030.

The AI compute facility is intended to support global artificial intelligence and high-performance computing workloads, including hyperscalers, enterprise users, research institutions, and India’s sovereign AI initiatives. According to the company, the infrastructure will be designed to deliver large-scale compute capacity with low latency and high reliability.

AM Group said the facility will be powered by round-the-clock carbon-free energy, drawing on renewable generation and energy storage assets developed by the group. The project aligns with Uttar Pradesh’s data center policy and the state’s objective of becoming a major hub for digital infrastructure and advanced computing.

The AI hub is expected to deploy approximately 500,000 advanced computing chipsets and is positioned as one of the largest AI infrastructure investments announced in India to date. The project was formalized during the World Economic Forum in Davos, in the presence of senior government officials and AM Group leadership.

According to the company, the project is expected to attract significant foreign direct investment and generate thousands of high-skilled jobs. It is also expected to support the development of a local ecosystem covering hardware manufacturing, software development, data center operations, and advanced cooling technologies.

AM Group said the initiative reflects its broader strategy of combining energy infrastructure with digital platforms to support industrial decarbonization and next-generation technology deployment. The company added that the AI compute hub will contribute to India’s long-term goals around digital capability, clean energy integration, and technology-led economic growth.
