Aludecor Launches Intelligent Louvers for Responsive Building Facades

Aludecor has launched Alubreeze Intelligent Louvers, a new façade system designed to respond to changing environmental conditions while allowing building owners and facility teams to monitor and control the system remotely. The intelligent louver system is designed for modern buildings with large glazed façades, where managing sunlight, heat gain, glare and weather conditions is an important part of building performance. The system uses environmental inputs such as sunlight, rain and wind to adjust the position of motorised louvers.

According to Aludecor, the system allows users to monitor and operate the louvers through a mobile application or web dashboard from any location. It can also be connected to building management systems through BMS and API integration. The Alubreeze Intelligent Louver System combines a controller, 24V linear actuator, environmental sensors and AluSync Cloud. Hall-sensor feedback helps verify the position of the louvers and supports closed-loop operation.

“ The façade should do more than define a building’s appearance; it should actively contribute to how the building performs,” said Ashok Kumar Bhaiya, Chairman and Managing Director, Aludecor. “With Alubreeze Intelligent Louver System, we are making the façade more responsive to its environment, bringing together design, performance and intelligent control in one system.”

The system can automatically adjust louver positions according to sunlight conditions and can be programmed to manage solar exposure and glare during different periods of the day. It can also move into a protective position during rainfall and strong wind conditions.

Alubreeze is available in both fixed and intelligent configurations. The system offers single and double louver options in 30°, 45° and 90° configurations, with profile sizes ranging from 100 mm to 600 mm depending on the selected design. The louvers can be installed horizontally or vertically.

The company said both fixed and intelligent configurations can contribute to building energy performance by reducing the effective Solar Heat Gain Coefficient of glazed façades and supporting improved Energy Performance Index results. Independent studies indicate potential cooling-energy savings of 18% to 40% in climates comparable to India, although actual savings depend on factors such as building orientation, glazing, climate, controls and usage.

The louver systems can be used in commercial offices, institutional buildings, hotels, airports, transit infrastructure, parking structures, atriums, canopies, pergolas and public buildings. Aludecor said the system gives architects greater flexibility to combine solar control with daylight management and architectural design. A range of profiles, angles and finishes is available for different project requirements.

Founded in 2002, Aludecor provides façade solutions including aluminium composite panels, honeycomb panels and fire-retardant systems. With Alubreeze Intelligent Louvers, the company aims to expand the use of adaptive façade technology in modern buildings and provide solutions that combine architectural design with building performance.
