Aludecor, one of India’s leading manufacturers of aluminium composite panels (ACP), has released a new campaign film under its ongoing “Test-Nahi-Toh-Trust Nahi” initiative, placing renewed attention on fire safety in building materials. The television commercial highlights the importance of verifying fire-retardant and fire-resistant claims associated with ACP materials used in modern construction. Widely used in building façades, interiors, and signage, ACP panels play a significant role in contemporary architecture. However, when the performance of such materials is not independently validated, it can pose potential safety risks.
Through a narrative set in a real construction environment, the film emphasises a simple but critical message: materials that claim to be fire-retardant or fire-resistant must first undergo proper testing before they can be trusted. Aludecor’s ACP products are subjected to extensive testing before being introduced to the market.
The company conducts more than 205 performance and durability tests across multiple parameters, including fire behaviour, weather resistance, bonding strength, and environmental performance. These evaluations are designed to ensure that the materials meet stringent safety and quality standards.
Strengthening the campaign further, Aludecor has collaborated with two leading academic institutions—the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi and the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee—to enable independent third-party testing of ACP samples at their laboratories. The initiative allows architects, builders, and fabricators to submit ACP panels from any manufacturer for scientific testing, providing an additional layer of verification for material performance.
The campaign also highlights the risks associated with relying on unverified claims, including potential safety hazards, reputational impact for contractors and fabricators, and financial implications for project stakeholders. With increased scrutiny around façade-related fire incidents globally, the initiative aims to encourage greater accountability in material selection for construction projects.
As part of the effort, Aludecor has introduced a free testing programme that enables industry professionals to submit ACP samples for fire safety evaluation. Participants can also access the company’s research and development centre, which houses a National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) accredited facility dedicated to reaction-to-fire testing.
To maintain neutrality and credibility, all testing will be conducted through a brand-blind and anonymised process. Testing teams will not be informed about the brand, project, or customer associated with the submitted samples, ensuring that results reflect only the actual performance of the material.
Commenting on the initiative, Ashok Kumar Bhaiya, Founder and CMD of Aludecor, said the campaign aims to encourage the construction industry to adopt a culture where materials are tested independently before being accepted. He added that transparent testing builds trust, protects reputations, and most importantly contributes to safer buildings.
Founded in 2002, Aludecor manufactures façade solutions including ACP sheets, honeycomb panels, and advanced fire-retardant systems. With multiple manufacturing facilities and an annual production capacity exceeding 10 million square metres, the company supplies façade materials for commercial, infrastructure, and retail projects across India.
