TVS Srichakra Limited, manufacturer of Eurogrip tyres, has introduced its new Protorq Racing slick tyre range for the 2026 PETRONAS TVS India One Make Championship. The new tyres will be used on the TVS Apache RR 310 and TVS Apache RTR 200 motorcycles in both front and rear applications during the racing season. The launch marks another step in Eurogrip’s efforts to develop high-performance motorcycle tyres using learnings from competitive racing.

Eurogrip is serving as the technical partner of the PETRONAS TVS India One Make Championship for the eighth consecutive year. The 2026 championship began on August 14 and will be conducted in five phases across different racing leagues. Protorq Racing has been developed specifically for track use. The slick tyre features racing-focused carcass material and construction, along with a high-grip compound and slick tread pattern designed to provide greater surface contact. The tyre has also been developed to support sharp lean angles and high-speed cornering. Its construction is intended to provide stable handling and rider confidence under demanding racing conditions.

TK Ravi, Chief Operating Officer, TVS Srichakra Ltd said the company’s eight-year association with the championship reflects its focus on motorcycle tyre technology and racing performance. He said the company continues to develop new products by using racing as a platform to test and improve tyre technologies.

V Sivaramakrishnan, CTO and Deputy COO, TVS Srichakra, said racing gives the company’s research and development teams an opportunity to study tyre behaviour under demanding track conditions. The information gained from racing is used to improve performance, handling and rider confidence.

Vimal Sumbly, Head – Premium Business, TVS Motor Company, said the partnership between TVS Racing and Eurogrip is based on a shared focus on engineering, precision and racing performance. He added that the combination of race-developed motorcycles and specially designed tyres would support riders during the new season.

TVS Srichakra, established in 1982, manufactures and exports tyres for two-wheelers, three-wheelers and off-highway vehicles. The company operates manufacturing facilities in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, and Rudrapur, Uttarakhand, with a combined production capacity of more than three million tyres per month.

The company has a design centre in Milan, Italy, supporting its R&D operations in Madurai. Its tyres are tested under Indian, European and Japanese road conditions and its products are sold in more than 85 countries. Through its continued involvement in the One Make Championship, Eurogrip aims to strengthen its racing technology and use track experience to support the development of high-performance tyres for customers.
