Altos Computing Ltd, part of Acer Inc, has introduced its locally manufactured AI server portfolio in India, marking a strategic step toward strengthening the country’s artificial intelligence and data centre ecosystem. The announcement was made at a launch event attended by senior representatives from government and industry, including officials from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, alongside partners from leading technology companies such as NVIDIA and Intel India.
At the centre of the launch was the Altos BrainSphere R300 AI Series Server, developed to support advanced computing requirements across enterprises, research institutions, government bodies and large-scale data centres. The system is designed for intensive AI workloads, including model training and inference, and features high-density GPU capabilities, scalable memory architecture and efficient thermal management.
The move to manufacture AI servers in India aligns with the country’s broader push to build domestic technology capabilities and reduce reliance on imports. By localising production, Altos aims to improve accessibility, enable faster deployment and support scalability for organisations adopting AI-driven solutions.
The company also showcased its wider portfolio, including the R370 and R680 AI server platforms, which are designed for large-scale computing environments requiring high processing power. Demonstrations at the event highlighted real-world applications such as predictive analytics, intelligent video processing, smart manufacturing and research computing.
In addition to core AI infrastructure, Altos presented its ecosystem of solutions spanning edge computing systems, enterprise platforms and collaboration technologies. These offerings are intended to support organisations across sectors as they increasingly rely on data-driven decision-making.
India is witnessing rapid growth in demand for high-performance computing infrastructure, driven by expanding digital adoption across industries such as healthcare, manufacturing and public services. The introduction of locally manufactured AI servers is expected to play a role in meeting this demand while supporting innovation.
Altos Computing focuses on delivering high-performance computing solutions that help organisations manage complex workloads and derive actionable insights from data. By combining global engineering expertise with local manufacturing, the company aims to contribute to India’s ambition of becoming a hub for AI innovation. The launch reflects a broader trend of technology companies investing in domestic capabilities to support the next phase of digital transformation, with AI infrastructure emerging as a key enabler of future growth.
