Zelio E-Mobility has strengthened its manufacturing footprint with the inauguration of a new production facility in Coimbatore, reinforcing its expansion plans across South India. The new plant will improve the company’s ability to meet the growing demand for electric two-wheelers while enhancing supply chain efficiency and customer support across the region.

Located on Trichy Road at Nagiyyaan Thottam, Lakshmi Nagar, Kannampalayam, the facility covers nearly 39,000 sq. ft. and has been established with an investment of up to ₹1 crore. The plant will undertake electric scooter assembly, storage, logistics and related operations, catering to key southern markets including Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and South Maharashtra.

The Coimbatore unit has an installed production capacity of 60,000 electric two-wheelers annually. During the initial phase, it is expected to manufacture between 24,000 and 30,000 units each year, with production increasing progressively in line with market demand.

Commenting on the expansion, Kunal Arya, Managing Director, Zelio E-Mobility, said, “The Coimbatore facility marks another important milestone in our growth journey. South India is emerging as one of the country’s strongest electric mobility markets, and this plant enables us to serve customers, dealers and business partners more efficiently. It will strengthen our manufacturing network, improve delivery timelines and support the wider adoption of electric vehicles across the region.”

The new facility currently employs 30 people and is expected to create more than 100 additional jobs over the coming months, supporting the company’s target of crossing 500 employees during the current financial year. With the commissioning of the Coimbatore plant, Zelio E-Mobility’s total installed manufacturing capacity has increased from 1.8 lakh units to 2.4 lakh units annually, representing a 33 per cent expansion. The company already operates manufacturing facilities in Haryana’s Ladwa and Patan, along with a plant in Cuttack, Odisha, all following uniform quality standards and production processes.

The expansion comes amid strong business growth for the company. Zelio E-Mobility reported revenue of ₹313.68 crore in FY2025-26, registering an 81.8 per cent year-on-year increase while maintaining profitability. Following its successful BSE SME listing in October 2025, the company has continued to expand its manufacturing capacity and retail network. Zelio currently has more than 400 dealerships across over 25 states and plans to increase this number to more than 550 by FY2027 as it strengthens its presence in India’s fast-growing electric mobility market.
