WIKA India, a prominent name in global measurement technology, has unveiled a newly built school structure at the Zilla Parishad Primary School in Kesnand village, Pune. The inauguration marks the completion of a project initiated in 2023 and reinforces the company’s ongoing efforts to support local education and social development.
The upgraded campus features five well-equipped classrooms designed to provide a safe and supportive learning space for more than 200 students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Previously, inadequate facilities required the school to run in two separate shifts.
With the new building, students can now attend classes without interruption and benefit from improved academic infrastructure. The event was graced by several senior leaders from the organization, including Alexander Wiegand, Chairman and CEO of WIKA Group; Sascha Niederhagen, Executive Vice President EMEA/India and Member of the Management Board; and Gaurav Bawa, Senior Vice President of WIKA India.
Speaking at the ceremony, Sascha Niederhagen said, “Education drives progress. By assisting the Kesnand school, we are investing in the future of local children and strengthening the community as a whole.” Gaurav Bawa added, “Our association with Kesnand goes back many years. This village forms a key part of WIKA India’s journey. The new school building symbolizes our dedication to empowering young learners and supporting future generations.”
Alongside this CSR achievement, WIKA India also revealed that it has purchased additional land close to its Pune manufacturing facility. The acquisition is aimed at supporting the company’s long-term growth plans in India. The expansion will help the company increase production capacity, adopt advanced technologies, and generate more employment and skill-building opportunities in the region.
