Rotork has introduced the RTP-4000 series, a new generation of smart valve positioners engineered to deliver optimized control for both single-acting and double-acting actuators used on rotary and linear valves. The first model in the lineup, the dual-certified RTP-4400, brings together simplified installation and setup, enhanced online diagnostics, rugged build quality, and seamless system connectivity—making it well suited for demanding oil and gas operations as well as other sectors that rely on high-precision valve control.

The series incorporates magnet-based, non-contact position feedback to eliminate mechanical wear and extend long-term reliability for linear and rotary applications. Real-time pressure-sensor diagnostics enable predictive maintenance, while a user-friendly dashboard provides immediate visibility into valve performance. Built with corrosion-resistant, copper-free aluminium and resin-potted electronics, the devices are designed to withstand harsh environments, with an arctic option rated for temperatures as low as –55 °C. The positioners integrate with major control and asset-management platforms, and their dual certification supports use in both explosion-proof and intrinsically safe settings. High pneumatic capacity ensures rapid valve movement, and optimized air consumption supports lower operating costs. Optional features include digital and analogue outputs, pressure gauges, and Emergency Shutdown (ESD) compatibility with partial-stroke testing.

Juha Kivelä, Global Product Manager – Pneumatic Actuation and Instrumentation at Rotork, remarked: “The RTP-4000 series elevates our positioner portfolio to a new level, addressing the needs of high-end process industries. Customers will appreciate its straightforward installation, intuitive diagnostics, and durable design, all of which contribute to improved efficiency and dependable performance even in the harshest applications.”
