Tata Chemicals Limited has achieved a significant operational milestone, with its Mithapur facility producing 1 million tonnes of soda ash during the financial year 2025–26. The achievement highlights the company’s continued focus on operational excellence and efficiency.
The milestone reflects coordinated efforts across multiple functions, including operations, maintenance, logistics, procurement, quality, and safety. Teams across the organization contributed to ensuring consistent plant performance and reliable production output throughout the year.
To commemorate the achievement, employees at the Mithapur site gathered for a celebration led by senior leadership. A commemorative plaque was unveiled alongside a symbolic display marking the production of the one-millionth tonne of soda ash, recognizing the collective effort behind the accomplishment.
Rino Raj, Vice President and Site Head at Mithapur, said the milestone is the result of sustained operational discipline and teamwork. He emphasized that improvements in plant efficiency, reliability, and safety have been critical in maintaining consistent production levels.
Nandakumar S Tirumalai, Chief Financial Officer of Tata Chemicals, highlighted the financial significance of the achievement. He noted that disciplined execution, cost optimization, and efficient asset utilization have supported improved margins while maintaining resilience in a competitive market environment.
The Mithapur facility plays a key role in Tata Chemicals’ global operations, supplying soda ash to industries such as glass manufacturing, detergents, and other industrial applications.
