Komaki Electric Vehicles has announced the launch of its second lithium battery manufacturing facility in Udyog Vihar, Gurgaon, marking a significant step in the company’s expansion strategy. Spread across 40,000 square feet, the new plant is positioned as the largest integrated EV battery manufacturing unit in North India and reflects Komaki’s growing focus on strengthening domestic production capabilities.

The facility has been developed with an investment of ₹30 crore and is equipped to produce 10,000 lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries per month, translating to an annual capacity of 1,20,000 units. This expansion is expected to support Komaki’s rapidly growing electric vehicle portfolio while ensuring a reliable supply of high-performance battery systems.

Komaki has chosen to focus exclusively on LFP and lithium manganese iron phosphate (LMFP) cell technologies. These battery chemistries are known for their enhanced safety, longer life cycles, and superior thermal stability, making them particularly suitable for Indian operating conditions. Their fire-resistant properties and ability to deliver consistent performance under varying temperatures further strengthen their appeal for electric mobility applications.

The company’s battery systems are designed to offer a lifecycle of up to 2,500 charge cycles. In addition, Komaki provides warranty options of three years for LFP batteries and five years for LMFP batteries, offering customers improved reliability and a lower total cost of ownership.

Sustainability has also been a key consideration in the development of the new facility. The plant incorporates efficient manufacturing processes aimed at reducing material wastage and optimizing resource utilization. These efforts align with Komaki’s broader commitment to environmentally responsible mobility solutions.

Speaking on the occasion, Gunjan Malhotra, Co-founder of Komaki Electric Vehicles, said the new plant represents a crucial milestone in the company’s journey toward building a self-reliant and future-ready EV ecosystem. He emphasized that the focus on advanced battery technologies reflects Komaki’s priority on safety, durability, and long-term value for customers.

With this expansion, Komaki continues to reinforce its position in India’s electric vehicle sector by investing in advanced battery manufacturing capabilities. The move supports the country’s clean mobility ambitions while enabling the company to scale operations and deliver more efficient, reliable electric mobility solutions.

Komaki Electric Vehicles is an Indian electric mobility company focused on designing and manufacturing electric two-wheelers and advanced battery systems. The company is committed to driving sustainable transportation through innovation, safety-focused technologies, and localized production.
