ZF Commercial Vehicle Control Systems India Limited(ZFCVS) has secured a new business nomination from an emerging Indian commercial vehicle manufacturer to develop and supply an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) suite for next-generation bus platforms.

The win reinforces ZF’s continued focus on advancing ADAS technologies tailored for the commercial vehicle segment in India. Increasing demand from domestic OEMs, along with evolving safety regulations, is driving the adoption of intelligent safety systems across the industry.

At the core of the awarded program is ZF’s OnGuardMAX platform, an advanced multi-sensor solution integrating a front camera, mid-range radar, and image processing capabilities. The system enables critical safety features such as Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), along with additional functionalities including Lane Departure Warning (LDWS) and Driver Drowsiness Alert (DDAW).

To enhance safety further, the solution incorporates short-range radar technology that provides near-field coverage around the vehicle. This helps address blind spots and improve protection for vulnerable road users such as pedestrians and cyclists. The system is engineered to meet regulatory requirements including Blind Spot Information System (BSIS) and Moving Off Information System (MOIS).

The ADAS suite is integrated with electronic braking and stability systems, ensuring faster response times, improved vehicle control, and reduced stopping distances. The unified architecture is designed to enhance collision avoidance and operational efficiency, while also reducing maintenance requirements and downtime.

Paramjit Singh Chadha, Managing Director of ZF Commercial Vehicle Control Systems India Limited, said the company remains committed to delivering solutions that align with India’s unique driving conditions while leveraging global engineering expertise. He noted that the growing adoption of ADAS reflects the industry’s increasing focus on safety and efficiency.

Akash Passey, Non-Executive Chairman of the company and President of ZF Group India, added that the organization is working closely with OEMs to support evolving safety expectations and prepare for higher levels of vehicle automation.

The program scope includes system supply, vehicle integration, calibration, and validation, with production targeted for early 2027. The platform is scalable and designed to support future advancements up to Level 2 automation.

ZF reaffirmed that its ADAS initiatives in the commercial vehicle segment remain a strategic priority, supported by dedicated teams and ongoing investment. The company continues to focus on enabling safer, more efficient, and sustainable mobility solutions across India’s transport ecosystem.
