The Advanced Carbons Company (TACC), part of the LNJ Bhilwara Group, is driving India’s emergence as a major global hub for advanced energy materials, a sector central to the world’s transition toward clean mobility and sustainable energy storage. Leveraging the manufacturing expertise and export leadership of HEG Limited—the world’s largest exporter of graphite electrodes and a flagship of the LNJ Bhilwara Group—TACC is establishing a cost-competitive, high-quality production base designed to serve both domestic battery manufacturers and international energy players.

By combining India’s geographical advantage, skilled technical talent, and growing clean energy demand, TACC is creating a dynamic ecosystem where innovation, research, and industrial scale converge to build global competitiveness in critical materials. The company’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities, developed to meet international benchmarks, are set to bridge global supply gaps in key energy materials. The infrastructure emphasizes efficiency, sustainability, and reliability, strengthening India’s strategic position in the global clean energy supply chain.

Ankur Khaitan, Managing Director & CEO, TACC, commented “TACC marks India’s strategic entry into the global advanced materials space — not as a low-cost substitute, but as a trusted, innovation-driven partner. Our vision is to make India indispensable to the world’s clean energy transition.”

As global demand for lithium-ion batteries continues to rise sharply, manufacturers are seeking to diversify supply chains and reduce dependence on a few key producing nations. TACC’s entry into large-scale anode material production directly addresses this need by offering technologically advanced, locally sourced, and globally benchmarked solutions.

Aligned with the Government of India’s ‘AtmaNirbhar Bharat’ and ‘Make in India’ missions, TACC’s initiatives are strengthening the nation’s self-reliance and technological sovereignty in one of the most critical sectors shaping the future of energy and mobility. Once fully operational, TACC aims to become a strategic partner to global EV and energy storage ecosystems, positioning India not just as a consumer market but as a leader in supply, innovation, and export of advanced clean energy technologies.

The Advanced Carbons Company (TACC Limited) is a green technology enterprise under the LNJ Bhilwara Group, established to accelerate advancements in energy storage materials and next-generation carbon applications. A wholly owned subsidiary of HEG Limited, TACC builds on over five decades of graphite manufacturing expertise to deliver high-performance anode materials, graphene derivatives, and advanced carbon solutions for emerging industries.

Located on a 100-acre integrated campus near Indore, Madhya Pradesh, TACC operates India’s first commercial-scale plant for battery-grade synthetic graphite anode materials with an annual capacity of 20,000 metric tonnes in its initial phase. The facility also includes a 200 metric tonne demonstration unit, a dedicated Innovation Centre, and a 4,000+ metric tonne graphene production facility encompassing Graphene Oxide (GO), Reduced Graphene Oxide (rGO), Graphene Nanoplatelets (GNPs), and a range of functionalized graphene materials.
