SPML Infra Limited has secured a major contract worth ₹165.41 crore from Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited for the development of a 400 kV grid substation and associated transmission infrastructure at Dahra in Kota, Rajasthan. The project is scheduled to be completed within 18 months.

The latest order further strengthens SPML Infra’s growing presence in India’s high-voltage power transmission and substation segment, particularly as states accelerate investments to support renewable energy integration and grid modernization. Rajasthan has emerged as one of India’s leading renewable energy hubs, with rapid growth in solar and wind power generation. Industry experts believe the expansion of high-capacity transmission infrastructure is critical for efficient evacuation and distribution of renewable as well as conventional power across the state’s expanding electricity network.

Under the scope of the contract, SPML Infra will undertake supply, erection, testing and commissioning of the 400 kV grid substation at Dahra. The project includes installation of one 500 MVA autotransformer bay, a 420 kV 125 MVAR bus-type shunt reactor bay, two 400 kV feeder bays and three 400 kV tie bays.

The company will also execute associated civil works, automation systems and communication infrastructure required for the project. The upgraded transmission infrastructure is expected to improve grid stability, operational reliability and power evacuation capability in the region.

Abhinandan Sethi, Managing Director of SPML Infra Limited, said Rajasthan is playing a key role in India’s evolving energy landscape through rapid grid expansion and renewable energy growth. He added that the order reflects the company’s technical expertise and execution capabilities developed over more than four decades in infrastructure development.

The project also strengthens SPML Infra’s expanding power business portfolio, complementing its activities in battery energy storage systems and sustainable infrastructure solutions. The company continues to focus on government-backed infrastructure projects across its core sectors of water, power and energy storage.
