Sterlite Technologies Limited (STL), a global provider of optical networking and digital infrastructure solutions, has announced that one of its subsidiaries has secured a multi-year Product Award Letter valued at more than $1 billion from a hyperscaler customer for AI-ready data centre deployments in the United States. Under the agreement, STL will supply advanced optical connectivity products to support the construction and expansion of next-generation artificial intelligence data centres. The development marks a significant milestone for the company as demand for high-capacity AI infrastructure accelerates globally.
The company stated that its optical networking technologies and in-house research and development capabilities have enabled the creation of advanced fibre optic solutions designed specifically for AI-driven data centre environments. STL’s latest AI-focused offering, the Neuralis AI Data Center Portfolio, has been developed to address the growing need for ultra-fast, high-density connectivity in hyperscale computing environments. The portfolio supports large-scale GPU clusters and advanced AI workloads through specialised fibre optic systems engineered for performance, scalability and efficiency.
A key component of the Neuralis portfolio is its AI Whitespace solution, which uses ultra-high-density pre-terminated fibre cables to manage the extensive fibre requirements of modern GPU-based AI clusters. These solutions are designed to optimise installation speed and network efficiency while supporting the enormous data transfer demands associated with artificial intelligence applications.
The portfolio also includes the Celesta IBR cable series for high-speed Data Center Interconnect (DCI) applications. These ultra-compact cables are capable of supporting up to 6,912 fibres, enabling hyperscalers to build highly scalable and space-efficient connectivity infrastructure.
Commenting on the development, STL Managing Director Ankit Agarwal said the agreement reinforces the company’s role in enabling the connectivity backbone for the rapidly expanding AI ecosystem. He added that STL’s optical solutions would support the build-out of AI data centre infrastructure in the United States for the hyperscaler customer.
The agreement is expected to strengthen STL’s position in the global optical networking market and further expand its presence in high-growth AI and cloud infrastructure segments. With increasing investments in AI-driven computing and hyperscale facilities worldwide, the demand for advanced optical fibre and connectivity products is expected to witness sustained growth over the coming years.
STL has consistently focused on innovation-led growth through customer collaboration and next-generation optical networking technologies. Its solutions portfolio spans optical fibres, optical fibre cables, connectivity products and integrated data centre networking systems.
The company provides end-to-end connectivity solutions for AI-ready infrastructure, fibre-to-the-home deployments, enterprise networks, rural broadband projects and hyperscale data centres. STL’s expanding AI-focused portfolio positions the company to benefit from the global surge in data traffic, cloud computing adoption and artificial intelligence investments.
STL continues to focus on building end-to-end solutions for high-capacity networks across 5G, fibre-to-the-home (FTTx), rural connectivity, and enterprise deployments. The expansion into advanced data centre products further reinforces its position as a key enabler of India’s and the world’s digital transformation.
