Sigma Advanced Systems has announced the award of new contracts valued at approximately ₹100 crore from the Ministry of Defence and associated defence public sector undertakings. These orders reaffirm the company’s standing as a trusted provider of mission-critical defence electronics and high-reliability systems, where rigorous qualification cycles and stringent performance standards are paramount.

The contracts cover strategic programmes across missile systems, naval platforms, and airborne applications. Sigma will deliver custom-built systems, control electronics, and actuation solutions designed for next-generation defence platforms. Key programmes include Surface-to-Air Missile (SAM) systems supporting advanced air defence, Anti-Tank Missile (ATM) initiatives requiring precision flight control and electronics, and New Generation Anti-Radiation Missile (AGM) programmes through integrated guidance systems.

In the naval domain, Sigma will supply advanced actuation solutions for underwater platforms, enhancing operational effectiveness, while its expertise in rotary-wing avionics will support onboard flight data acquisition systems for helicopters. The company will execute these orders in collaboration with leading defence PSUs and research institutions, including Bharat Dynamics Limited, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, and establishments under the Defence Research and Development Organisation.

Commenting on the announcement, Sunil Kalidindi, CEO of Sigma Advanced Systems, stated: “These orders reflect the confidence of India’s defence ecosystem in Sigma’s engineering and manufacturing capabilities. We remain committed to strengthening indigenous defence capability by delivering complex systems with reliability, technical depth, and sustained programme support.”

The new contracts reinforce Sigma’s leadership in high-reliability defence electronics and mission-critical systems, while supporting India’s ongoing indigenisation and modernisation objectives. Sigma’s Hyderabad facility integrates research and development, design, manufacturing, and environmental testing under one roof, enabling end-to-end support for long-cycle defence programmes.

With over three decades of experience, Sigma Advanced Systems operates across India and the UK, with ongoing expansion in the United States. The company designs and manufactures avionics, torpedo systems, radar equipment, communication solutions, embedded electronics, and aerostructure components for global aerospace and defence OEMs.

By combining proximity to Western markets with India’s cost-efficient and talent-rich manufacturing base, Sigma delivers high-complexity, safety-critical components, assemblies, and systems across aerospace, defence, and emerging technology segments. These latest orders mark a significant milestone for Sigma, further establishing its role as a key contributor to India’s Make in India initiative and the nation’s strategic defence capability.
