Shipwaves Online Limited has secured a purchase order valued at ₹1.56 crore from Hindalco Industries Limited to deploy an end-to-end logistics digitalization platform aimed at improving export shipment management and freight operations. The order represents an important step in Shipwaves’ growth and reflects the rising demand among large manufacturing companies for technology-driven supply chain management solutions.

The development was disclosed to BSE Limited in accordance with regulatory requirements under the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) listing regulations. Under the engagement, Shipwaves will implement a comprehensive digital logistics platform designed to streamline Hindalco’s export operations and improve visibility across its global freight activities. The platform will integrate multiple processes involved in shipment management, documentation, freight billing and procurement into a unified digital framework.

Hindalco Industries, a flagship metals company of the Aditya Birla Group and one of the world’s leading producers of aluminium and copper, selected Shipwaves following an evaluation of several logistics technology providers. The decision reflects confidence in Shipwaves’ capabilities to deliver scalable digital solutions tailored for complex global supply chains.

As part of the agreement, Shipwaves will deploy a range of digital tools to enhance operational efficiency across several areas of logistics management. A central component of the project is a unified export shipment management system that will enable Hindalco to plan, document and monitor export consignments through a single digital interface. The system is designed to simplify coordination across multiple stakeholders, including logistics partners, freight forwarders and shipping carriers, while ensuring greater transparency throughout the shipment lifecycle.

The platform will also introduce an AI-powered freight bill audit capability that automatically validates freight invoices and identifies discrepancies. This feature is expected to improve cost accuracy, reduce the risk of billing errors and help companies minimize revenue leakage in freight transactions.

Another key element of the project is the implementation of a digital freight tender management system for import shipments. The system will provide a structured and transparent process for inviting bids from logistics partners, enabling Hindalco to optimize freight procurement while maintaining strong supplier relationships.

Industry experts note that digital freight management solutions are gaining traction across manufacturing sectors as companies seek greater efficiency and control over increasingly complex global supply chains. By automating processes such as documentation, invoicing and shipment tracking, these platforms help organizations improve decision-making while reducing operational delays.

For Shipwaves, the contract further strengthens its position as a technology partner for large industrial enterprises pursuing digital transformation initiatives in logistics and supply chain management. The collaboration also deepens Shipwaves’ relationship within the Aditya Birla Group ecosystem. The company had earlier onboarded Grasim Industries, another group entity, onto its logistics platform. The addition of Hindalco expands Shipwaves’ presence within the group’s network of manufacturing businesses.

According to company officials, securing a major client such as Hindalco underscores the reliability and scalability of Shipwaves’ technology platform. Large industrial organizations require robust digital systems capable of handling high shipment volumes, complex documentation processes and multi-country logistics operations.

The contract will be executed over a period of three years, during which Shipwaves will support the deployment, integration and ongoing optimization of the digital logistics system. As manufacturers increasingly focus on supply chain resilience, digital visibility and cost control, investments in logistics technology are becoming an essential component of modern industrial operations.

Solutions that enable real-time tracking, automated verification and transparent procurement are expected to play a growing role in improving global freight efficiency. Shipwaves said the project represents another milestone in its mission to deliver technology-led logistics solutions that help manufacturers modernize supply chain infrastructure while enhancing operational transparency and efficiency.
