Kinetic Engineering Limited (KEL), the flagship company of the Kinetic Group, has secured an additional ₹40 crore investment from its promoter group, reinforcing confidence in the company’s long-term strategy and growth prospects in the evolving mobility sector. The investment has been made through the conversion of warrants, subject to the required approvals and applicable regulatory guidelines. Following the transaction, promoter ownership in the company has increased to 65 percent, indicating a deeper commitment by the promoter group to the company’s future expansion.

The additional capital arrives at a time when Kinetic Engineering is expanding its capabilities in electric mobility components, battery technologies and precision-engineered solutions supplied to domestic and international original equipment manufacturers. The company has been steadily strengthening its role within the changing mobility landscape by supporting both conventional automotive programmes and emerging electric vehicle platforms.

Ajinkya Firodia, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Kinetic Engineering Limited, said the investment reflects strong promoter confidence in the company’s long-term direction. “This is an exciting phase for the Kinetic Group,” he said. “The electric version of the Kinetic DX scooter launched by our subsidiary has received an extremely encouraging response. We are now expanding our presence across the country and plan to appoint more than 150 dealers during the year.”

He added that the funds will be utilised to support expansion initiatives across the company’s component manufacturing operations as well as its electric mobility projects. “The automotive industry is experiencing a significant shift toward electric mobility,” Mr Firodia noted. “By strengthening our capital position, we can accelerate investments in technology, manufacturing capabilities and product development as we prepare for the next phase of growth.”

The promoter investment also aligns with the Kinetic Group’s broader objective of building a strong ecosystem around electric mobility that integrates vehicles, battery systems and advanced automotive components. Kinetic Engineering recently completed over five decades of manufacturing operations and continues to supply components to several leading global and domestic automotive manufacturers.

Its subsidiary Kinetic Watts and Volts, in which KEL holds an 80 percent stake, has recently introduced the electric version of the iconic Kinetic DX scooter. The DX EV features several proprietary innovations developed by the company, including Easy Charge™, Easy Flip™ and Easy Key™, aimed at simplifying everyday usage for riders. The scooter is designed with a durable metal body and offers 37 litres of under-seat storage, one of the largest capacities in its category.

The vehicle is powered by the Range-X lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, which offers improved durability and safety compared with conventional battery technologies such as NMC. Kinetic Watts and Volts has already initiated sales and service operations in Pune, Mumbai, Vadodara, Surat, Indore and Delhi NCR, with plans to expand its presence nationwide as demand for electric two-wheelers continues to grow.

Kinetic Engineering Limited (KEL) is the flagship company of the Kinetic Group, with more than 50 years of experience in automotive manufacturing. The company operates a major component manufacturing facility in Ahilyanagar (Ahmednagar) supported by advanced engineering and technology capabilities.

KEL supplies components to leading original equipment manufacturers including Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra, Ashok Leyland, Renault, American Axle, Magna Powertrain and Sonalika Tractors. The company’s corporate headquarters are located in Chinchwad, Pune, and its shares are listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE: 500240).
