SANY Group has shipped its first batch of SKT110Ei pure-electric autonomous mining trucks to South America, marking the company’s first autonomous mining truck project in the region. The project represents SANY’s first deployment of its autonomous mining solution in Latin America. It includes a fleet of autonomous mining trucks, an intelligent dispatching system and lifecycle operation and maintenance services tailored to the customer’s requirements.

The integrated solution combines autonomous vehicles with roadside infrastructure and cloud-based fleet management. Localized operation and maintenance support will also be provided as part of the project. SANY said the deployment is designed to address several challenges faced by mining companies, including demanding operating conditions, safety risks, a shortage of skilled operators and increasing labour costs.

The SKT110Ei pure-electric autonomous mining trucks have been developed for high reliability and availability while reducing energy consumption. They use SANY’s internally developed autonomous driving system to support mine operations with reduced dependence on manual driving.

The trucks are designed to improve productivity and operational efficiency while helping mining companies reduce operating costs. The deployment also expands SANY’s presence in the growing market for autonomous and electric mining equipment. SANY recently showcased another development in electric mining technology at the SANY Group Mining Summit 2026. The company unveiled its first cabless pure-electric mining truck, equipped with a liquid-cooled dual-gun charging system designed to support rapid charging.

The cabless truck can operate in three modes: on-site takeover, remote takeover and fully autonomous driving. The combination is intended to give mining operators flexibility across different operating conditions and levels of automation. SANY Intelligent Mining, a subsidiary of SANY International, is responsible for the company’s intelligent mining technology development. Its capabilities cover drive-by-wire chassis systems, multi-sensor perception, artificial intelligence-based decision-making and cloud-based dispatching.

As of July 2026, SANY had deployed more than 300 autonomous mining trucks globally. These vehicles had collectively travelled more than 13 million kilometres in operation and transported more than 41 million cubic metres of earth and rock across different mining environments. The South American project builds on this experience and extends SANY’s autonomous mining technology into a new geographic market.

SANY said it will continue investing in autonomous and electric mining technologies while working with mining customers worldwide. The company aims to improve safety, efficiency and operating economics while supporting the mining industry’s move towards more sustainable equipment.
