HEROSE has launched the Type 01C07, a high-pressure globe valve developed for gaseous hydrogen transport applications with operating pressures of up to 500 bar. The new valve is designed for use in transportable pressure vessels, multiple element gas containers (MEGCs) and tube trailers. It has been developed to meet the requirements of high-pressure gaseous hydrogen transport and is suitable for hydrogen, helium and nitrogen applications.

The Type 01C07 complies with EN ISO 10297 and requirements associated with the Transportable Pressure Equipment Directive and Transportable Pressure Equipment Regulation. The valve is available with flange or cone connections, allowing manufacturers to integrate it into different transport system configurations.

HEROSE has used hydrogen-compatible materials and sealing components designed to withstand explosive decompression. The valve has also undergone hydrogen leak testing across its complete operating temperature range to verify its sealing performance. The company said the design combines safety, ease of operation and high flow capacity. An ergonomic handwheel is designed to reduce operating torque, while a clearly visible position indicator allows operators to quickly identify whether the valve is open or closed.

The valve has also completed endurance testing involving 10,000 full pressure cycles. The testing is intended to demonstrate its suitability for repeated filling and unloading operations in demanding hydrogen transport environments. The Type 01C07 was developed in cooperation with a global gas supplier. Following successful validation, the valve has already entered service in the first gaseous hydrogen transport systems and is now being made available to other manufacturers and operators involved in hydrogen transport.

Franziska Jaenike, Product Manager at HEROSE, said, “The hydrogen market is evolving rapidly, and so are the demands placed on transport solutions. With our new high-pressure globe valve, we provide customers with a solution specifically engineered for GH₂ transport systems, combining the highest safety standards with a robust design and straightforward operation.”

The introduction comes as the hydrogen industry expands its focus on transportation and distribution infrastructure. High-pressure gaseous hydrogen systems require components capable of handling demanding operating conditions while maintaining reliable sealing and safe operation.

With the Type 01C07, HEROSE aims to support manufacturers and operators developing transportable hydrogen storage and distribution systems. Its application across tube trailers, MEGCs and other transportable pressure vessels provides flexibility for different hydrogen logistics requirements.

The company said the valve’s combination of pressure capability, hydrogen compatibility, flow performance and endurance testing makes it suitable for applications where reliable high-pressure gas handling is essential. HEROSE continues to develop valve and cryogenic technology for industrial gases and energy applications, with a focus on supporting emerging hydrogen infrastructure and the wider transition toward lower-carbon energy systems.
