Sansera Engineering Limited, a leading manufacturer of precision-engineered components for automotive and non-automotive applications, has announced a strategic joint venture with Nichidai Corporation, Japan. The partnership will focus on manufacturing high-precision forged and machined aluminium and steel components for differential assemblies, compressors, driveline systems and other advanced automotive applications not currently part of Sansera’s portfolio.

The joint venture will be established as a private limited company based in Bengaluru, India, and will cater to both domestic and international markets. The collaboration combines Nichidai’s five decades of expertise in precision dies, component manufacturing and filtration technologies developed in Japan and Thailand, with Sansera’s strong manufacturing base and customer relationships in India.

Under the proposed structure, Sansera will hold a 60% equity stake in the joint venture, while Nichidai will hold 40%. The ownership model reflects a balanced approach to building a domestically anchored enterprise aligned with the Government of India’s Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives, while enabling technology transfer and global manufacturing best practices.

The joint venture is expected to help Sansera diversify its product mix beyond internal combustion engine components, access new customer segments and overseas markets, strengthen its competitive position in the automotive value chain, and create additional revenue streams. It is also expected to generate skilled employment and contribute to Karnataka’s industrial development.

Commenting on the partnership, S Sekhar Vasan, Chairman & Managing Director, Sansera Engineering, said the joint venture marks an important milestone in the company’s growth journey and aligns with its strategy to expand into high-value, technology-agnostic automotive components. He added that access to Nichidai’s Japanese precision engineering expertise would enable Sansera to deliver next-generation components to global OEMs.

Naoki Ito, President, Nichidai Corporation, said India represents one of the most attractive automotive manufacturing markets globally. He noted that after careful evaluation, Nichidai found Sansera to be the ideal partner to introduce its precision engineering capabilities and Japanese quality standards to Indian and international customers.

Founded in 1981, Sansera Engineering is an integrated manufacturer of complex and critical precision components across automotive and non-automotive sectors.
