PwC India and SAP India have launched an 18-month Career Readiness Training Programme aimed at preparing engineering students for technology-driven careers. The initiative will combine industry-relevant training, SAP certifications and practical exposure to help students develop skills required in the changing job market.

The programme was launched with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT), Bhubaneswar. KIIT is the first academic institution to partner with PwC India and SAP India under the SAP University Alliances initiative in India. The programme is expected to be extended to other universities across the country.

The initiative is designed for Bachelor of Technology students studying Computer Science, Electronics and Communication, Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning. It will combine SAP-certified courses with practical industry exposure and focused sessions on professional and technology skills.

Students who demonstrate strong performance during the programme will have an opportunity to undertake six-month internships with PwC India. Selected participants may also be considered for full-time employment opportunities, providing a direct pathway from academic learning to professional experience.

Sanjeev Krishan, Chairperson, PwC in India, said stronger collaboration between industry and academia is essential for India to build a skilled workforce. He said the programme will provide students with future-ready capabilities and practical experience while supporting the development of talent for the country’s growing digital economy.

Manish Prasad, President and Managing Director, SAP India, said the partnership will help bridge the gap between classroom learning and workplace requirements. He added that students will receive hands-on exposure to SAP technologies and skills that can help them adapt to the changing demands of work.

The programme comes at a time when artificial intelligence, cloud technologies and digital transformation are reshaping jobs across industries. PwC India and SAP India said their collaboration is aimed at helping students understand emerging technologies while developing the practical capabilities needed to apply them in professional environments.

The initiative is also aligned with PwC India’s Vision 2030, which focuses on supporting India’s growth by expanding access to learning opportunities, enabling smoother transitions into employment and developing a future-ready workforce. The companies said the programme will support their wider commitment to industry-academia collaboration and help create stronger links between educational institutions and employers.
