Motovolt Mobility has recorded its highest-ever monthly vehicle registrations in August 2026, with 1,365 units registered during the month. The achievement has placed the Kolkata-based electric two-wheeler manufacturer among the top 10 EV makers on the VAHAN portal.

The company reported 108% month-on-month growth in August and more than 500% year-on-year growth. Motovolt is the only electric vehicle original equipment manufacturer from Eastern India to record this level of performance, according to the company.

The strong growth has been driven by increasing demand for electric mobility in the commercial two-wheeler segment. Motovolt has expanded its presence among fleet operators while also growing its retail network across key markets. The company has focused on developing electric vehicles suited to daily commercial and personal use. Its flagship M7 range of electric scooters has emerged as an important part of this strategy. The scooters are designed for high-usage applications where reliability, operating efficiency and vehicle availability are important.

Some M7 models are supported by battery-swapping technology through partnerships with Indofast Energy and Yuma Energy. The technology is aimed at reducing charging downtime and supporting commercial users who depend on their vehicles for regular operations. Motovolt said the M7 platform has gained acceptance among fleet operators and individual riders looking for electric vehicles that can support daily commuting and livelihood-related activities.

Tushar Choudhary, Founder and CEO, Motovolt Mobility, said the company’s entry into the Top 10 EV manufacturers on the VAHAN portal validates its focus on affordable and dependable electric mobility. He added that customer demand, dealer support and fleet adoption have contributed to the company’s recent growth.

The company is also working to strengthen its customer experience through an expanding retail network and dedicated service support. Motovolt aims to provide customers with easier access to vehicles, maintenance and after-sales services as its sales footprint grows.

The August performance marks a major step for the company as it seeks to increase electric vehicle adoption across India. Motovolt expects commercial mobility to remain an important growth area as businesses and individual operators look for alternatives to conventional fuel-powered vehicles.

Founded in 2019 by industrial entrepreneur Tushar Choudhary, Motovolt Mobility is headquartered in Kolkata. Its product portfolio includes electric cycles, e-mopeds and high-speed multi-utility electric scooters. The company has delivered more than 35,000 vehicles to date. These vehicles have covered more than 65 million kilometres on electric power, helping save approximately 17 lakh litres of fuel and offset more than 37 lakh kg of carbon emissions.
