Larsen & Toubro’s (L&T) Heavy Engineering division has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Asia arm of Holtec International, a leading U.S.-based nuclear energy solutions company, to jointly deliver advanced design and build solutions for Heat Transfer Equipment in the nuclear power sector. This new agreement builds upon the existing partnership between L&T and Holtec, which already collaborate on the global deployment of Holtec’s SMR-300 (Small Modular Reactor) technology. The partnership is further supported by the 810 Authorization granted to L&T by the U.S. Department of Energy, enabling cross-border nuclear technology collaboration.
The collaboration brings together L&T’s globally recognized nuclear manufacturing expertise and Holtec’s advanced design capabilities to provide comprehensive Heat Transfer Solutions for both nuclear and conventional thermal power plants. The joint initiative aims to optimize performance in critical areas such as the power plant island and balance-of-plant systems.
Through this strategic alliance, the two companies will focus on developing high-performance technologies that enhance heat exchange efficiency, ensure operational reliability, and improve thermal regulation — all essential for driving the global transition toward clean, sustainable energy.
