JJG Aero, a Bengaluru-based manufacturer of precision aerospace components, has begun construction of its third manufacturing facility with an investment of ₹200 crore. The plant will be built on a 12-acre campus at Adinarayanahosahalli, off the Satellite Town Ring Road (STRR), and is expected to increase the company’s manufacturing capacity more than threefold.
The first phase will cover 325,000 sq ft, compared with around 100,000 sq ft across its two existing plants. It is expected to generate ₹600 crore in additional revenue by FY31 and create 1,500 direct jobs. A second phase, planned to add another 175,000 sq ft will take the total built-up area to 500,000 sq ft.
The first phase will accommodate more than 325 machines and associated special-process facilities. Combined with the 125 machines at the company’s second plant in South Bengaluru, the expansion will increase its installed machine base to around 450, with full capacity targeted by 2030. JJG Aero aims to achieve annual revenue of approximately ₹1,000 crore and employ around 2,000 people across its facilities by FY31.
The new facility will expand the company’s capabilities in higher-value aerospace manufacturing. Planned additions include sub-assembly operations for strategic customers, in-house heat treatment and new qualified surface-treatment lines. These will complement the more than 30 Nadcap-approved special processes already offered by the company. JJG Aero is also considering a Factory-within-Factory model that would provide dedicated production areas for individual customers.
Anuj Jhunjhunwala, founder of JJG Aero, said the facility would be digitally connected from the outset, with the capacity and capabilities required to undertake more complex work for global aerospace customers. He added that the investment aligned with the Aerospace Industries Association of India’s objective of increasing India’s share of the global aircraft supply chain from about 1.5% to 10%.
The plant will use Industry 4.0-connected machines linked to production-planning software, digital workstations and inspection stations. Artificial intelligence tools are planned to support operators and production planners, while paperless operations are intended from the start.
Located near Kempegowda International Airport and the Aerospace SEZ, the facility is expected to take 12 months to construct, followed by statutory, systems and customer approvals. The first phase is also expected to support around 3,000 indirect jobs through vendors, subcontractors and service providers.
JJG Aero has recorded a compound annual growth rate of 50% over the past three years. It recently secured new Safran Landing Systems contracts at the second Safran Suppliers Conference India and expanded its work with Safran from one division to three, adding Aerosystems and Actuators.
Established in 2008, JJG Aero manufactures precision-machined aerospace components and provides in-house special-process finishing for aircraft systems and engines. Its capabilities range from two-axis to five-axis machining and include more than 30 Nadcap-approved processes, including electroplating, anodising, painting and non-destructive testing. The company serves American and European original equipment manufacturers and Tier-1 suppliers, including Collins Aerospace, Safran, GE Aerospace, Pratt & Whitney, Boeing, Woodward and Liebherr. It has raised US$42 million across two private equity funding rounds and also operates a subsidiary serving the automotive components and industrial sectors.
