izmo Microsystems Pvt Ltd, the semiconductor subsidiary of izmo Limited (NSE: IZMO | BSE: 532341), will showcase production-stage silicon photonics products and advanced packaging technologies at SEMICON India 2026. The company’s display will include silicon photonics modules and packaging technologies for data centre interconnects and quantum infrastructure. Products on display will include a Quantum Random Number Generator module, a Quantum Key Distribution module packaged for Pramatra, a Thin-Film Lithium Niobate modulator packaged for CCRAFT, and photonic characterisation packages developed and manufactured by izmo Microsystems.
The company said its packaging capability allows photonic integrated circuits to be converted into functional modules through package design, precision assembly and manufacturing. It has developed these capabilities in India and supports customers from prototyping through commercial production.
At SEMICON India, izmo Microsystems will also preview its optical transceiver portfolio, which is scheduled for commercial launch in 2027. Silicon photonics is being used in applications including artificial intelligence infrastructure, high-performance computing, quantum technologies, defence, aerospace and secure communications.
Unlike conventional electrical connections, silicon photonics uses light to transmit data, enabling high bandwidth and improved energy efficiency for advanced computing and communications systems. The technology is gaining importance as AI clusters and cloud infrastructure require faster and more efficient data connectivity.
Dinanath Soni, Director, izmo Microsystems Pvt. Ltd., said, “SEMICON India gives us an opportunity to showcase silicon photonics products that are manufactured by us and demonstrate the advanced packaging expertise we have built in India. Our strength lies in advanced package design and manufacturing, taking customers from initial development through to production. As the first Indian company to undertake silicon photonics packaging, we are helping establish a domestic capability with applications across AI, high-performance computing, quantum technologies, defence and secure communications. This progress reflects the work of our engineering teams and our collaboration with IIT Madras through CPPICS. Our forthcoming optical transceiver portfolio will build on this expertise to address growing demand in India and international markets.”
izmo Microsystems has a strategic partnership with the IIT Madras-led CPPICS Photonics Mission, supporting the development and commercialisation of photonics technologies. The company’s Bengaluru operations provide end-to-end capabilities covering package design and development, prototyping, precision assembly, fibre attachment, characterisation, qualification and manufacturing.
izmo Microsystems focuses on System-in-Package solutions, silicon photonics and advanced optical packaging for domestic and international customers. Through its participation at SEMICON India 2026, the company will engage with semiconductor customers, research institutions and strategic partners while demonstrating its manufacturing and advanced packaging capabilities.
