iPHEX 2026, the International Exhibition on Pharma and Healthcare organised by the Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India (Pharmexcil), with the support of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, concluded at Bharat Mandapam with potential business discussions estimated at USD 4.5 billion to USD 5 billion. The 12th edition, held from September 7–9, brought together 468 international buyers and 405 Indian sellers, resulting in 8,504 business meetings. More than 30,000 business visitors attended the exhibition, taking overall footfall, including exhibitors, beyond 50,000.

Buyers from 128 countries participated in the event, including national procurement agencies from Cuba, the Philippines, Zambia, Palestine, Tajikistan, Maldives, Afghanistan, Mali, El Salvador, Libya, Fiji, Burkina Faso, Tunisia, Kenya, Mauritius and Malawi. Business discussions covered pharmaceuticals, active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), formulations, therapeutics, medical devices and other healthcare segments. Engagements focused on sourcing, supplier relationships, market expansion and long-term partnerships. Therapeutics accounted for approximately 39% of the product mix discussed, followed by formulations at 35.1% and APIs at 25.8%.

The exhibition also addressed market access, supply-chain resilience and regulatory standards. Officials from the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) outlined the movement towards a more proportionate and risk-based regulatory framework, greater adoption of digital systems and simplified compliance requirements while maintaining safety, quality and efficacy.

Namit Joshi, Chairman, Pharmexcil, said the participation of buyers from 128 countries demonstrated continued global interest in sourcing from and partnering with Indian pharmaceutical companies. He added that the Council would focus on helping exporters convert business discussions into sustained commercial relationships, expand their presence in established markets and access new geographies. Bhavin Mehta, Vice Chairman, Pharmexcil, said future growth for Indian pharmaceuticals would increasingly depend on complex products, stronger manufacturing and technology capabilities and expansion into markets where India has further growth potential.

. Raja Bhanu, Director General, Pharmexcil, said the participation of national procurement agencies from 15 countries reflected confidence in Indian pharmaceuticals for their quality, affordability and reliability. He added that Pharmexcil would continue working with exporters and regulatory agencies to support compliance with international standards and facilitate market access. Nipun Jain, Chairman, iPHEX, said the focus would now be on converting discussions into orders, partnerships and sustained market opportunities.

Announcing the next edition on the concluding day, Namit Joshi said the 13th edition of iPHEX and the second Bharat Health Global Expo will be held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, from August 19–21, 2027. Organised annually since 2013, iPHEX provides a platform for Indian pharmaceutical and healthcare companies to connect with international buyers and stakeholders and showcase the country’s capabilities across the global healthcare value chain.

Established in 2004, Pharmexcil is the authorised export promotion council for India’s pharmaceutical and healthcare sector under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. It supports international market access through trade promotion, market intelligence, policy advocacy, buyer-seller engagements, exhibitions, regulatory support and capacity-building initiatives.
