Huwel Lifesciences and Avio Smart Market Stack Limited (ASMS) have launched a strategic international growth initiative by appointing a Singapore-based regional commercialisation partner to expand their presence across Southeast Asia. The move is aimed at creating a scalable export platform across Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines.

The partnership comes at a time when Southeast Asia is emerging as one of the world’s fastest-growing healthcare markets. Rising healthcare investments, growing awareness of diagnostic testing, expanding laboratory infrastructure and increasing demand for quality medical services are driving strong opportunities across the region.

Governments in these markets are also investing in screening systems, laboratory modernisation, women’s health programmes and decentralised testing networks. Increasing urbanisation, large populations, medical tourism growth and stronger focus on infectious disease preparedness are further supporting market expansion.

Under the agreement, ASMS will lead commercial execution, including regional sales development, channel partnerships and market rollout planning. Huwel Lifesciences will focus on technology development, manufacturing, regulatory support and continued product innovation.

The expansion will begin with Quantiplus, Huwel’s flagship molecular diagnostics platform. The product has been developed to deliver affordability, scalability and dependable clinical performance, making it suitable for laboratories, hospitals, institutional users and public health programmes in high-volume and cost-sensitive markets.

N Vidhya Sagar Reddy, Managing Director of ASMS, said the collaboration marks an important step in building the company’s healthtech business as a long-term growth engine. He noted that by combining ASMS’s strengths in market development and execution with Huwel’s innovation capabilities, the partnership aims to establish a strong commercial ecosystem for healthcare technologies across Southeast Asia. He added that the initiative also supports the company’s broader strategy of creating future-ready businesses in healthcare, agriculture and digital commerce.

Following the first phase of rollout, the companies plan to introduce additional products from Huwel’s diagnostics portfolio. These may include portable testing systems, decentralised molecular platforms, rapid screening products and specialised diagnostic solutions developed for regional healthcare needs.

For ASMS, the expansion strengthens its growing healthtech vertical, complementing its existing businesses in financial inclusion and agritech. The company has identified healthcare technology as a major long-term opportunity with both domestic and international potential.

The collaboration reflects a wider trend of combining India’s strengths in innovation, research and manufacturing with agile international distribution and commercial networks. By integrating Huwel’s scientific expertise with ASMS’s market execution capabilities, the companies aim to create a strong export platform for next-generation healthcare solutions.

The initiative also underlines India’s increasing role as a global source of advanced and cost-efficient diagnostic technologies. With Southeast Asia as the first major overseas growth market, Huwel Lifesciences and ASMS are positioning themselves for sustained international expansion in the years ahead.
