Guna Solar Private Limited, one of India’s rapidly expanding solar EPC companies, has commissioned a 994.2 kW rooftop solar power plant for Modine Thermal Systems Private Limited at their advanced manufacturing facility in SIPCOT, Sriperumbudur. The project is financed under SIDBI’s OPEX model, ensuring zero upfront investment for Modine Thermal. Guna Solar handled the complete EPC execution and will provide long-term operation and maintenance, delivering uninterrupted renewable energy for years to come.

Under this arrangement, Guna Solar retains ownership of the plant and supplies electricity to Modine Thermal through a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) at 50% of the prevailing grid tariff, immediately cutting the company’s power costs by half. Rajesh Rangarajan, MD & CEO of Guna Solar, said, “We transform unused rooftops into revenue-saving assets. Our flexible financing models—CAPEX, Lease, Deferred CAPEX, and OPEX—make solar accessible to every company, regardless of upfront budgets.”

R Sathish, MD of Modine Thermal, added, “Installing this solar plant demonstrates our commitment to renewable energy and sustainability. The zero-investment OPEX model ensures affordable, reliable, and long-term power, while supporting energy independence and reducing our carbon footprint.”

The plant was completed in 100 days with best-in-class equipment, precision engineering, and stringent safety standards. Jordi Aragones Juncosa, CTO of Guna Solar, highlighted that the project uses net metering, module-level DC optimization, advanced diagnostics, and high-resolution analytics, maximizing energy yield even under partial shading. Safety features include module-level rapid shutdown, aligned with global standards such as FM Global, ensuring quick deactivation during emergencies or maintenance.
