Godrej Consumer Products Limited (GCPL) has received the ‘Marquee Best of the Best Award’ for its work in diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB) at the Bombay Chamber Inclusion Awards 2026. The company was also named first Runner-up in the Consumer and Life Sciences Sector.
The awards are instituted by the Bombay Chamber of Commerce & Industry, which has a history spanning 190 years. The Marquee category recognises organisations for their inclusion practices and efforts to create more equitable workplaces.
GCPL’s inclusion initiatives focus on improving representation and creating opportunities for employees from diverse backgrounds. Programmes including Aarambh, GOAL and Bersiap, along with inclusive hiring practices, have supported greater representation across the company’s manufacturing, sales and corporate teams.
Vaibhav Ram, Global HR Head, Godrej Consumer Products, said, “We are delighted to be listed in the Marquee category, which features organisations setting the benchmark for inclusion and belonging and charting the way forward for the corporate world. As an organisation where historically excluded groups make up more than half of our consumer base globally, we are proud to sustain a similar representation within our employee base. What makes our journey at GCPL meaningful is seeing our leaders recognise the untapped potential of diverse communities in their entirety, as colleagues, as talent and as consumers. Integrating these perspectives brings more heads, heart and hands to our work, embedding inclusion in how we build our business & culture.”
Sandhya Ramesh, AVP – DEI, Culture & Engagement, Godrej Consumer Products, said, “GCPL continues to be on the path of accelerating inclusion internally & across the ecosystem. With representation of over 50% in our global workforce, our aim now is to expand efforts to positively impact end-consumer experience while building sustainable talent models representing historically excluded communities in functions like sales & manufacturing.”
GCPL’s inclusion efforts extend beyond its employees to its wider business ecosystem. The company works with distributors, suppliers, hiring partners, NGOs and community organisations to support its inclusion objectives. Its product development initiatives also include an Inclusive Olfactory Panel, which brings diverse perspectives into the evaluation and development of products.
The company applies its inclusion approach across markets including India, Indonesia, the Americas and GAMC, adapting initiatives to local requirements and workforce conditions. GCPL said the recognition reflects the contribution of its employees, leaders, allies and external partners towards integrating inclusion into its workplace practices and business operations.
