DOUGLAS Group, Europe’s leading omnichannel premium beauty retailer, has selected Centric PLM from Centric Software to modernise and scale its Corporate Brands product development operations as part of its enterprise-wide digital transformation strategy. Headquartered in Düsseldorf, Germany, DOUGLAS Group operates through its commercial brands DOUGLAS, NOCIBÉ, Parfumdreams and Niche Beauty. The group serves customers through online platforms and around 1,970 stores across 22 countries. Its Corporate Brands business is an important part of its overall portfolio.

The growing scale and complexity of the Corporate Brands business has increased the need to streamline product development processes involving internal teams, suppliers and regulatory stakeholders. Product information, approvals and documentation have been managed across multiple processes, making visibility, traceability and standardisation more difficult as the business expanded. Increasing regulatory requirements and supplier collaboration have further highlighted the need for a centralised product lifecycle management system.

“As our Corporate Brands business continued to grow, we recognised the need for greater transparency, consistency and control across our product development processes. Our priority was to find a scalable PLM platform that could centralise product information, strengthen regulatory compliance and establish a foundation for future growth while transforming fragmented processes into a connected and collaborative product development ecosystem,” said Lena Krömer, SVP Corporate Brands at DOUGLAS Group.

Following an evaluation of several solutions, DOUGLAS Group selected Centric PLM for its expertise in cosmetics and personal care, Corporate Brands capabilities and functionality covering Product Information Files (PIF), regulatory compliance and workflow governance. Centric PLM will provide DOUGLAS Group with an end-to-end platform for managing product information and development processes. Its configurable platform is designed to support collaboration among internal teams, suppliers and other stakeholders while providing greater visibility across product development workflows. Valantic has been selected as the implementation partner for the project. The company will support the deployment by providing technology expertise and industry knowledge, with a focus on process optimisation and collaboration.

“Centric PLM stood out for its ability to combine supplier collaboration, compliance management and end-to-end traceability within a single platform. It provides the scalability, visibility and single source of truth we need to accelerate innovation and enable the continued growth of our Corporate Brands business,” Krömer said.

DOUGLAS Group expects the implementation to support faster product development and time to market, improve supplier collaboration and provide greater visibility into innovation workflows. Centralised product information is also expected to strengthen regulatory compliance and governance.

“We are pleased to partner with DOUGLAS Group and valantic on this strategic initiative,” said Fabrice Canonge, CEO, Centric Software. “By combining cosmetics and personal care expertise with regulatory capabilities, Centric PLM provides DOUGLAS Group with a platform to streamline product development, strengthen compliance and support the continued growth of its Corporate Brands business.”
