Detroit Engineered Products (DEP) has introduced DEP AIWorks, a new engineering platform that combines artificial intelligence with physics-based simulation to improve product development processes across industries. Developed using DEP’s engineering experience and its widely used MeshWorks platform, AIWorks integrates predictive modeling, generative design, and simulation into a unified system. The platform incorporates neural networks, physics-informed modeling, and established CAE solvers to produce reliable and engineering-focused outcomes.
DEP AIWorks is designed to operate independently of specific solvers or tools, allowing users to work across multiple datasets, domains, and stages of development. From early-stage design exploration to validation and manufacturing, the platform supports a wide range of engineering activities within a single environment.
The system features a modular and scalable architecture, enabling functions such as adaptive model training, rapid prediction, automated parameterization, optimization, and centralized data handling. Engineers can develop and deploy models within weeks while reducing simulation time from hours to minutes, without compromising on accuracy or alignment with real-world conditions.
The platform is applicable across sectors including automotive, aerospace, energy, telecom, and manufacturing. By combining data-driven insights with physics-based validation, it supports faster decision-making and improved efficiency in engineering workflows.
The announcement follows the completion of the DEP MeshWorks X AIWorks Conclave 2026, a multi-city event held in Bengaluru, Delhi NCR, Hyderabad, Pune, and Chennai. The event brought together industry professionals, OEMs, and technology partners to discuss the role of predictive and generative AI in product development and manufacturing.
Radha Krishnan, President and Founder of DEP, stated that the platform reflects a shift in how AI is being adopted in engineering, moving from standalone applications to integrated workflows. He noted that combining simulation expertise with AI capabilities allows teams to accelerate development while maintaining engineering precision. DEP AIWorks is part of the company’s broader ecosystem and works alongside MeshWorks, extending its functionality into AI-driven processes while preserving established simulation capabilities.
Founded in 1998 in Troy, Michigan, DEP provides engineering services, product development, software solutions, and consulting across global markets, including Europe, China, Japan, Korea, and India. Its MeshWorks platform supports rapid modeling, automation, and optimization, helping organizations reduce development time, improve design accuracy, and enhance product performance.
