Cummins India Limited celebrated the 20th anniversary of its flagship ‘Nurturing Brilliance’ initiative by welcoming a new cohort of 520 scholarship recipients for the 2025–26 academic year. The program, implemented through the Cummins India Foundation, continues to support students from underserved communities in pursuing engineering education and building future-ready careers.

The latest group of scholars was recognized at a ceremony held at the Cummins campus in Pune, in the presence of Shveta Arya, Managing Director, and Ashish Aggarwal, Chief Administrative Officer, Cummins in India.

This year’s program received over 9,600 applications, reflecting strong interest from students nationwide. Following a rigorous evaluation process, 520 candidates were selected based on merit and need, including 20 students with disabilities, reinforcing the initiative’s focus on inclusivity. Since its inception, the program has supported more than 3,100 students, with women comprising over half of all beneficiaries.

Addressing the gathering, Arya emphasized the role of education in enabling progress and opportunity. She noted that for two decades, the initiative has worked to ensure that financial constraints do not hinder talent and ambition. By connecting students with access, mentorship, and industry exposure, the program aims to prepare future engineers to contribute meaningfully to society and the economy.

The ‘Nurturing Brilliance’ program is designed as a comprehensive development platform that extends beyond financial assistance. In addition to covering tuition and academic expenses, it offers structured mentorship from industry professionals, hands-on exposure to real-world work environments, and training in soft skills and employability. Scholars also benefit from a growing network of peers and mentors, fostering collaboration, continuous learning, and long-term professional development.

Launched in Pune in 2006 with just 13 students, the initiative has evolved into a nationwide, digitally enabled platform. It now reaches students across key industrial locations, including Phaltan, Ahilyanagar, Indore, Jamshedpur, Dharashiv, Vidisha, Guna, and Ranchi, creating pathways for aspiring engineers to access quality education and career opportunities.
