Centum Electronics Limited, an Electronics System Design & Manufacturing company serving aerospace, defence, industrial and medical sectors, has announced major strategic steps to focus on high-growth business areas and strengthen its financial position. As part of its portfolio review, the company is reducing its global footprint by exiting loss-making overseas operations and redirecting resources toward core businesses. The Board has approved actions concerning subsidiaries that no longer meet the company’s growth and return expectations.
Following board approval on December 19, 2025, Centum has discontinued operations of its Canadian subsidiaries—Centum E&S and Centum T&S. Closure processes have begun in line with local regulations to prevent further losses.
The Board has also approved plans related to Centum T&S Group SA in France and its subsidiaries. The company will explore options such as sale, transfer or judicial reorganisation as per local laws. In keeping with accounting norms, Centum has already recognised impairment related to this subsidiary in its financial statements.
The company stated that adequate provisions have been made and no significant additional financial impact is expected. Despite these steps, Centum continues to report strong growth in its core ESDM business in India across aerospace, defence, industrial and medical electronics segments. The company plans to focus on high-reliability electronics, expand its EMS operations, move up the value chain in defence and aerospace systems, and benefit from India’s “Make in India” initiative through domestic manufacturing and global partnerships.
Joint Managing Director Nikhil Mallavarapu said the decisions are part of a clear strategy to streamline the global structure and concentrate on high-value opportunities. He added that addressing underperforming overseas operations will strengthen the balance sheet and free up resources for areas with better growth potential.
Centum aims to strengthen its position as a trusted partner for global and domestic customers while delivering long-term value to shareholders. Founded in 1994 and headquartered in Bengaluru, Centum Electronics has built a strong reputation for delivering complex electronic systems for defence, aerospace, space, industrial, and medical applications. The company serves customers worldwide with high-reliability engineering and deep technical expertise.
