Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) has reaffirmed that fuel and LPG supplies across its nationwide network remain stable and fully sufficient despite increased demand in select markets. The company stated that all refining, distribution and retail operations are functioning normally, supported by robust inventory management, continuous monitoring systems and coordinated supply-chain operations across the country.
The company highlighted that India continues to maintain a surplus refining capacity, with public sector refineries operating at high utilisation levels to ensure uninterrupted energy supplies. BPCL reported its highest-ever refinery throughput of 41.15 million metric tonnes during FY26, while refinery capacity utilisation touched 117%, underlining the company’s operational efficiency and supply preparedness.
Demonstrating its ability to respond swiftly to market requirements, BPCL recorded deliveries till May 21, 2026 of 1,056.062 TKL of Motor Spirit (MS) and 1,840.887 TKL of High-Speed Diesel (HSD). The company said that strategic operational measures have been strengthened further to maintain seamless availability of petroleum products and LPG across retail and distribution channels.
These measures include improved tanker movement planning, enhanced coordination among regional operational teams, optimisation of depot-level inventories and continuous round-the-clock monitoring to support replenishment activities. BPCL added that close coordination with distributors and retail outlets is helping maintain supply stability even during periods of heightened consumption.
The company reiterated its commitment to ensuring uninterrupted services and maintaining high standards of customer support, operational reliability and supply-chain resilience across India. Its extensive nationwide infrastructure includes more than 25,300 fuel stations, over 1,000 CNG stations, 6,250 LPG distributorships, 81 aviation service stations, 81 POL storage locations, 56 LPG bottling plants, multiple lubricant blending plants and six cross-country pipelines.
The company is also accelerating its sustainability initiatives with EV charging infrastructure available at more than 6,800 fuel stations. BPCL is pursuing its vision of becoming a Net Zero Energy Company by 2040 for Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions, while continuing to support community development initiatives in education, healthcare, water conservation, skill development and social welfare under its “Energising Lives” mission.
