Blue Energy Motors (BEM), a prominent name in India’s clean mobility space, has secured additional funding that brings its total capital raised to $50 million. Known for manufacturing LNG-powered and electric heavy-duty trucks, the company is supported by strategic stakeholders Essar and FPT (Iveco Group), who contribute both investment and technological expertise.

In its latest funding round, BEM raised $30 million from entrepreneur Nikhil Kamath and Omnitex Industries. These new funds will enable the company to unlock the full potential of its current facility, which has an annual production capacity of 10,000 trucks. The capital will also be directed towards increasing production output, fast-tracking the development of next-generation LNG and electric trucks, and expanding the company’s presence across India’s commercial vehicle market.

Blue Energy Motors has become a key player in India’s mission to reduce emissions from the transport sector, which accounts for nearly 15% of the nation’s total greenhouse gases. As the largest producer of LNG trucks in the country, BEM has already deployed close to 1,000 units, currently operating with several global and domestic corporations. Together, these vehicles have logged more than 60 million kilometers on Indian roads—cutting over 15,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions in the process.

Founder and Managing Director Anirudh Bhuwalka stated, “This investment round gives us the momentum to advance our goal of decarbonizing India’s freight industry. With both LNG and electric trucks in our portfolio, we are building practical, scalable alternatives to traditional diesel-based transport. Our approach is focused not only on environmental impact but also on long-term value and viability.”

Investor Nikhil Kamath commented, “India’s logistics sector is on the cusp of major change. The future will be driven by solutions that are not just sustainable, but also scalable and efficient. Blue Energy Motors is well ahead of the curve in delivering exactly that.”

Anshuman Ruia, Director at Essar, added, “Our continued investment in Blue Energy Motors reflects our confidence in their vision and their ability to deliver innovative solutions for heavy transport. This commitment is aligned with Essar’s broader strategy to promote sustainability across its business verticals.”

With a clear focus on low-emission freight transport, Blue Energy Motors is poised to play a vital role in India’s energy transition. The company combines cutting-edge vehicle technology with dedicated infrastructure, service support, and partnerships, creating an end-to-end solution for sustainable long-haul trucking.

Blue Energy Motors is a pioneering Indian manufacturer of heavy-duty trucks powered by liquefied natural gas and electricity. The company is focused on delivering clean, cost-effective alternatives to diesel trucks, helping to lower carbon emissions in freight transportation. By integrating advanced truck design with fueling and service infrastructure, BEM is building a future-ready ecosystem for sustainable logistics across India.
