ASMS and Huwel Lifesciences Expand Commercial Reach of Compact RT-PCR Testing Across India

Avio Smart Market Stack Limited (ASMS), formerly Bartronics India Limited, and Huwel Lifesciences are expanding their collaboration to establish a nationwide commercialisation platform for Cubo, Huwel’s ultra-compact RT-PCR system. The initiative is aimed at widening access to molecular diagnostic capabilities across India’s private healthcare sector, covering hospitals, diagnostic centres, research institutions and smaller healthcare facilities.

Under the expanded collaboration, ASMS and Huwel will work towards creating a dedicated sales and distribution network for Cubo. The planned commercial infrastructure will include senior sales leadership, specialised sales teams and strategic channel partnerships. The initiative will initially centre on Cubo while also creating a platform to introduce Huwel’s broader molecular diagnostics portfolio to the Indian market.

N Vidhya Sagar Reddy, Managing Director, ASMS, said the collaboration would focus on establishing the commercial infrastructure required to take molecular diagnostic technologies to a wider customer base. He noted that Cubo’s compact design could enable RT-PCR capabilities to be considered by hospitals, laboratories and healthcare providers beyond conventional centralised laboratory environments.

Cubo has been developed to support RT-PCR testing in smaller and decentralised healthcare settings. Its ultra-compact format is intended to make molecular diagnostic capabilities more accessible to facilities that may not have the infrastructure or scale associated with large centralised laboratories. This has relevance across India, where healthcare delivery extends from major metropolitan centres to Tier-II and Tier-III cities, independent hospitals and diagnostic facilities.

The commercialisation programme will target private hospitals, diagnostic chains, independent laboratories, medical colleges, research institutions and other healthcare establishments. ASMS and Huwel plan to combine direct sales with channel partnerships, supported by product demonstrations, installation assistance and ongoing customer engagement.

The companies also intend to develop an ecosystem around Cubo that includes compatible molecular assays and consumables. This approach is designed to support recurring testing requirements and enable installations to address multiple molecular diagnostic applications.

For ASMS, the collaboration represents an opportunity to expand its presence in the healthcare and diagnostics segment through indigenous technology offerings. For Huwel, the partnership provides additional sales reach and commercial execution capabilities to support wider adoption of its molecular diagnostics products.

The next phase of the collaboration therefore moves beyond individual product and institutional opportunities towards establishing a scalable commercial platform. Through expanded sales leadership, distribution partnerships and market coverage, ASMS and Huwel aim to make compact molecular diagnostic capabilities available to a broader network of healthcare providers across India.

The initiative will combine Huwel’s molecular diagnostics capabilities with ASMS’s planned commercial infrastructure, with the objective of supporting wider deployment of RT-PCR technology and creating new opportunities for decentralised molecular testing across the country.
