Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd reported total automotive sales of 114,874 vehicles in September 2026, registering a 15% year-on-year growth, including exports. The company also recorded continued growth in its utility vehicle and commercial vehicle segments during the month. Mahindra sold 64,092 utility vehicles in the domestic market in September, representing a 14% growth over the corresponding month last year. Domestic commercial vehicle sales stood at 30,420 units, also registering a 14% increase.
The company said the September performance was supported by sustained demand for its SUV portfolio and continued growth across its automotive business. Dr Velusamy R, President, Automotive Business, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., said, “In September, SUV sales clocked 64,092 units with a growth of 14%, and total vehicle sales stood at 114,874, a 15% YoY growth. Adding to this momentum, we are proud to have crossed the milestone of 1 lakh billing of our Electric Origin SUVs since launch.”
The company also highlighted the milestone of crossing 1 lakh billing of its Electric Origin SUVs since their launch. The achievement marks the expansion of Mahindra’s electric vehicle portfolio alongside its conventional SUV and commercial vehicle businesses.
Mahindra’s automotive operations form part of the wider Mahindra Group, which was founded in 1945 and has a presence across more than 100 countries. The group has around 3,24,000 employees and operates across sectors including farm equipment, utility vehicles, information technology and financial services.
Mahindra is also present in renewable energy, agriculture, logistics, hospitality and real estate. Its farm equipment business has a significant position in the global tractor market, while its automotive operations continue to focus on utility vehicles, electric mobility and commercial vehicles. The company has also identified rural prosperity, urban development and environmental, social and governance initiatives as key areas of focus for the group.
The September sales performance comes as Mahindra continues to expand its product portfolio across internal combustion engine and electric vehicle segments. The company is increasing its presence in the electric SUV market while maintaining its existing SUV and commercial vehicle portfolio.
With 64,092 domestic utility vehicles sold during the month and total automotive sales of 114,874 units including exports, Mahindra recorded growth across key segments in September 2026. The company said the performance reflects continued demand across its automotive portfolio and its expanding presence in India’s passenger and commercial vehicle markets.
