ABB India reported its strongest fourth-quarter order intake in five years, with Q4 CY2025 orders rising 52% to ₹4,096 crore, supported by steady growth in its core business and the timing of several large projects. Orders and revenue increased across all divisions during the quarter, although profitability was affected by higher material and labour costs.

For the full year CY2025, ABB India recorded its highest-ever orders of ₹14,115 crore and revenue of ₹13,203 crore, both up 8% compared with the previous year. Profit before tax margin stood at 16.9%, reflecting competitive market conditions, currency fluctuations, higher metal prices, and additional expenses linked to labour regulations. Return on capital employed was 21%, and the company’s board recommended a final dividend of ₹29.59 per share.

Managing Director Sanjeev Sharma said 2025 marked steady progress for ABB India, including the milestone of completing 75 years of manufacturing in the country. He noted that record orders and revenues demonstrate the company’s strong execution and resilient teams, while its diversified portfolio and technology-driven solutions continue to support growth across sectors. Sustainability initiatives also advanced, covering more than half of its suppliers and earning water stewardship certification for the Nelamangala facility.

During the fourth quarter, large orders were secured across industries such as data centres, automotive, infrastructure, railways, and metals. Key projects included low-voltage switchgear for a major data centre, robotics solutions for automotive manufacturers, propulsion systems for Indian Railways, rectifier systems for an infrastructure company, automation upgrades for an engineering firm, electric powertrain solutions for a metals producer, and compressor system integration for a refinery project.

ABB India’s order backlog reached ₹10,471 crore as of December 31, 2025, up 12% year on year, providing strong visibility for future revenue. Quarterly revenue grew 6% to ₹3,557 crore, with all business areas contributing. Electrification saw higher export revenue from distribution and smart power solutions. Motion reported improved sales across most divisions, while Automation recorded gains in energy industries and measurement solutions.

Profit before tax (excluding exceptional items) was ₹578 crore for Q4 and ₹2,230 crore for the full year. Profitability was impacted by rising input costs, foreign exchange movements, and labour-related expenses, partly offset by efficiency improvements and commodity hedging. Net profit reached ₹434 crore for the quarter and ₹1,669 crore for CY2025. The results underline ABB India’s focus on disciplined execution, technology leadership, and sustainable growth as it moves into 2026.

ABB India remains well-positioned to benefit from India’s strong macroeconomic fundamentals, public infrastructure spending, and industrial policy reforms. Sectors such as renewables, data centers, electronics, process industries, and water treatment present strong growth prospects.

With a diversified portfolio across automation, electrification, and digitalization, ABB India is equipped to capitalize on emerging opportunities in energy efficiency, AI-driven automation, and grid modernization. Despite global uncertainties, ABB India’s localization strategy, resilient order pipeline, and alignment with national priorities reinforce its readiness for sustained, responsible growth.
