As EMO Hannover 2025 wrapped up its remarkable edition, TASA Micro SPM Private Limited stood out as a symbol of India’s growing strength in precision engineering and machine tool innovation. Participating as an exhibitor for the very first time, the company showcased its expertise in gear manufacturing and broaching solutions, drawing attention from global visitors and industry leaders at the world’s largest platform for metalworking technology.

For over 25 years, TASA Micro SPM has been at the forefront of Special Purpose Machine (SPM) development for the automotive, defence, and aerospace sectors. Founded in 1995 by Ashok Kumar Sen, who began his career in tool design at Escorts, the company started with special-purpose jigs and fixtures before evolving into one of India’s most respected machine builders. Today, a significant share of components used by leading commercial vehicle manufacturers, from axle housings to propeller shafts, are produced on TASA machines, underscoring its vital contribution to Indian manufacturing.

At EMO Hannover 2025, organised by VDW (German Machine Tool Builders’ Association), TASA presented its latest advancements in gear-making technologies and broaching platforms, showcasing how Indian-built machines can meet the precision and performance standards of global manufacturing. Its patented broaching and post gear hobbing technology particularly impressed visitors, as it tackles the precision of its machines, matching current quality demands of gear manufacturing.

Visitors also explored TASA’s broad portfolio, which included broaching, gear chamfering, rounding, and their new development of gear hobbing and gear skiving solutions. The company’s range of post-hobbing gear tooth finishing machines, among the largest in India, allows for deburring, chamfering, rounding, pointing/ roofing, and swaging profiles, enabling quieter and more efficient gearboxes.

The highlight of TASA’s showcase was its newly developed Internal Broaching Machine for 120-ton capacity, engineered for the manufacturing of large planetary gears up to Ø 500mm. This innovation is set to assist planetary gear manufacturers who have long faced challenges in achieving the right combination of accuracy and reliability.

Reflecting on the company’s EMO experience, Ashok Kumar Sen, Managing Director of TASA Micro SPM Private Limited, shared, “We developed our new internal broaching machine to serve both Indian and global markets. This product will support planetary gear manufacturers in solving long-standing precision challenges. EMO has given us the perfect stage to present our capabilities and connect with the world.”

Aroop Kumar Sen, Sales and Project Head at TASA Micro SPM, added perspective on the company’s vision and global aspirations -“Every EMO we visit helps us understand industry trends and connect with innovators across the world. Exhibiting here for the first time was a proud moment and a step toward showcasing Indian-built capability and strengthening global partnerships.”

The TASA booth in Hall 13, Stand E38, attracted significant engagement, with live demonstrations, technical discussions, and an opportunity for visitors to get their Innovation Passport, a unique initiative led by Machine Maker to celebrate pioneering technologies at EMO. The excitement at the booth reflected not only TASA’s strong product lineup but also the growing international curiosity about India’s evolving machine tool ecosystem.

Throughout the exhibition, TASA’s team demonstrated not just their machines but their mindset, one rooted in precision, process, and progress. From application mapping and fixturing logic to load case analysis and control strategies, the company illustrated how it helps customers move from the first trial to stable, efficient production.

What began in 1995 as a small-scale effort to localise imported capabilities has now evolved into a story of resilience, expertise, and innovation. Over 400 machines built across India stand as a testament to TASA’s legacy of engineering excellence. The company continues to push boundaries, not just by delivering reliable performance but by contributing to India’s vision of self-reliance in manufacturing.

TASA Micro SPM’s successful participation at EMO Hannover 2025 represents India’s growing influence in the global machine tool arena. With its unwavering focus on precision, quality, and innovation, the company has set a new benchmark for what Indian engineering can achieve on the world stage.
