JTL Industries Limited, a rapidly growing manufacturer of steel tubes, has introduced Continuous Cast Copper (CC Copper) as a new addition to its non-ferrous product lineup. This move marks a notable enhancement beyond the company’s established brass production, which currently stands at around 100 metric tonnes per month.
With the introduction of CC Copper, JTL aims to double its monthly output to approximately 200 metric tonnes, reinforcing its foothold in the non-ferrous metals market. While the company’s brass products have been made in thicknesses of 18 mm and further processed down to 0.04 mm, the new copper offering will deliver a thickness of 0.08 mm, providing improved electrical and thermal conductivity.
This product expansion positions the company to serve several rapidly growing industries. In the electric vehicle (EV) sector, the new offering will be used for critical components like battery connectors, busbars, and motor windings, where both precision and high electrical conductivity are vital.
In the renewable energy field, the product is ideal for applications such as solar panel assemblies, inverters, and wind turbine components, all of which demand efficient transfer of power to maximize performance. This supports the ongoing shift towards cleaner energy solutions.
Additionally, the infrastructure and power distribution sector will benefit from the product’s suitability for wiring, switchgear, and grounding applications. These uses are essential for modernizing electrical grids and enabling large-scale electrification projects, which are key to supporting future energy demands.
JTL plans to ramp up production to 500 metric tonnes per month by the end of the fourth quarter, driven by process enhancements and rising demand. These products strengthen JTL’s focus on technology-led, high-value offerings that cater to industries shaping the future.
A company spokesperson commented, “Introducing CC Copper is a significant step in broadening our non-ferrous portfolio. This addition allows us to better serve rapidly expanding markets like electric vehicles and renewable energy, where quality and precision matter. As we scale up, our priority remains on operational efficiency and delivering superior products that uphold JTL’s position as a leader in the non-ferrous sector.”
JTL Industries Limited is among India’s fastest-growing steel tube producers, with its headquarters in Chandigarh and manufacturing plants in Punjab, Maharashtra, and Chhattisgarh. The company’s total pipe manufacturing capacity is approximately 936,000 metric tonnes per annum, alongside a backward integration capacity of around 300,000 metric tonnes.
Recognized as a “Three Star Export House,” JTL offers a diverse portfolio including galvanized iron (GI) pipes, mild steel black pipes, hollow sections, and solar structures. Its products serve a variety of industrial and infrastructure needs and are available in hot-dip galvanized, pre-galvanized, and uncoated black steel variants.
