HPE Discover Barcelona 2025 – HPE (NYSE: HPE) has expanded its GreenLake cloud portfolio with a series of advancements designed to help enterprises modernize their IT environments, manage rising AI-driven workloads, and navigate shifting virtualization demands. With most enterprises re-evaluating how they deploy workloads amid cost pressures and hybrid cloud growth, GreenLake aims to simplify operations and deliver secure, high-performance infrastructure.

Fidelma Russo, executive vice president of hybrid cloud and CTO at HPE, noted that organizations modernizing for AI, cloud, and virtualization each face different priorities—from rapid innovation and improved compliance to tighter cost controls. She emphasized that HPE’s end-to-end cloud portfolio is engineered to address these varied needs while enabling customers to move quickly and stay competitive.

HPE is strengthening its virtualization portfolio with expanded features in HPE Morpheus Software, offering enterprises a versatile and secure option as the virtualization landscape shifts. Morpheus VM Essentials helps companies sharply reduce licensing expenses through multi-hypervisor compatibility and built-in self-service cloud capabilities, giving teams more control over how virtual environments are deployed and managed.

A major upgrade comes in the form of zero-trust networking for virtual machines. Using technology from HPE Juniper Networking, Morpheus now delivers software-defined networking with micro-segmentation, allowing organizations to isolate workloads, strengthen defenses, and boost network responsiveness across their environments.

Network automation also advances through the integration of HPE Juniper Networking’s Apstra Data Center Director. This enables automated switch provisioning and consistent enforcement of VLAN and security policies across both physical and virtual infrastructure, reducing manual effort and minimizing configuration errors when workloads are moved or scaled.

To support uninterrupted operations, Morpheus will introduce stretched cluster capability with synchronous replication across metro regions. Combined with HPE Alletra Peer Persistence, this ensures that essential applications remain active even if a storage system or entire data center experiences an outage, offering resilience for modern, distributed IT environments.

For application modernization, Morpheus Enterprise Software now supports Kubernetes and container workloads running alongside traditional VMs on the HVM hypervisor. This gives organizations a single platform to manage cloud-native and legacy applications with consistent security, lifecycle management, and operational frameworks.

Data protection also sees meaningful advancements. HPE Zerto Software adds continuous data protection and near-instant recovery for virtual machine workloads, while Morpheus VM Essentials will integrate with Veeam Data Platform v13 to deliver hypervisor-level, image-based backup across private cloud environments, strengthening business continuity strategies.

Beyond virtualization, HPE is expanding its AIOps capabilities through HPE OpsRamp Software, which, along with Morpheus and Zerto, can be used individually or as part of the HPE CloudOps suite. This unified approach simplifies hybrid cloud management. In parallel, HPE introduced new solutions developed with NVIDIA to support secure AI adoption, including the HPE Alletra Storage MP X10000 Data Intelligence Nodes and upgraded Private Cloud AI configurations. New data-protection appliances—HPE StoreOnce 5720 and 7700—and advancements in confidential computing further reinforce resilience, speed, and security across enterprise AI and cloud environments.

Updates to HPE GreenLake include CloudPhysics Plus, Cloud Commit, and an improved GreenLake Marketplace, all designed to simplify cost planning, enhance visibility, and streamline hybrid cloud adoption. These additions help organizations optimize IT spending and unlock greater value from cloud investments.

HPE Financial Services (HPEFS) is expanding financing options to support customers moving toward hybrid cloud agility. Enterprises can spread costs for HPE CloudOps Software and standalone Morpheus, OpsRamp, and Zerto products over three years with no price increase. For HPE Alletra Storage—including the MP X10000 platform—customers can access up to 10% cost savings compared to traditional purchasing and enjoy deferred payments for the first two months.
