India’s manufacturing sector is entering a historic moment, shaped by rapid industrialisation, rising global confidence, and the nation’s bold ambition to become a world-leading production hub under the Make in India and Viksit Bharat 2047 missions. As Indian companies scale their operations, diversify into new product categories, and embrace automation, the need for advanced manufacturing technologies like additive manufacturing is becoming increasingly urgent.

Additive Manufacturing (AM) stands out for its ability to reduce lead times, enable complex geometries, and provide unprecedented design flexibility across industries as diverse as aerospace, automotive, tooling, medical devices, and heavy engineering. In this dynamic landscape, Italy has emerged as a strategic partner for India. With its legacy of precision engineering, high-end machinery, and deep technical expertise, the Italian industrial ecosystem offers knowledge, solutions, and collaborations that can accelerate India’s adoption of next-generation production technologies.

It is against this backdrop that the Indo-Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IICCI), with the support of the Embassy of Italy in New Delhi and in collaboration with UCIMU – SISTEMI PER PRODURRE Group and AMAPLAST, is organising a high-value technical webinar titled “Additive Manufacturing Unlocked: Innovations, Trends & Sectoral Growth Opportunities.” The session, scheduled for 9 December 2025, brings together leading experts from Breton SpA and Camozzi Advanced Manufacturing to explore how breakthrough AM solutions are reshaping industrial applications worldwide. Their insights offer Indian manufacturers a window into new possibilities—from hybrid additive systems that integrate thermoplastic pellet extrusion with precision CNC machining, to composite manufacturing methods that harness automated fibre placement and 3D-printed tooling to enable faster, more cost-effective production.

The significance of this dialogue lies not only in the technologies being showcased but also in the broader industrial partnership it represents. Commenting on the importance of this collaboration, Hari Shanker, Managing Editor of Machine Maker and Moderator for the session, noted that India is at the threshold of unprecedented manufacturing growth. He emphasised that as companies embrace digital transformation, advanced technologies such as Additive Manufacturing have become essential for building globally competitive production capabilities. He added that Italy, with its longstanding excellence in precision engineering and industrial automation, stands out as a natural collaborator for India, offering pathways for innovation, sustainability, and deeper industrial competitiveness.

The webinar will open with insights from Claudio Maffioletti of IICCI and Enrico Annacondia of UCIMU and AITA – the Italian Additive Technologies Association—setting the stage for a detailed exploration of Additive Manufacturing’s industrial potential. This will be followed by presentations from Andrea Sanzani of Breton SpA, who will discuss the large-format hybrid Additive Manufacturing capabilities of the Breton Genesi platform, and Andrea Biraghi of Camozzi Advanced Manufacturing, who will share case studies on composite structures manufactured using automated fibre placement and 3D-printed tooling. These perspectives offer a rare opportunity for Indian manufacturers to understand how global leaders are leveraging additive technologies to shorten development cycles, improve material performance, and unlock new engineering and commercial possibilities. The event will conclude with closing remarks by Nilesh Joshi from IICCI, reinforcing the collaborative intent behind this initiative.

For Machine Maker, being the official media partner for this webinar aligns with its mission of strengthening India’s manufacturing ecosystem through knowledge-sharing, storytelling, and global industry engagement. As a platform dedicated to bringing the world’s most relevant technological developments to Indian shop floors, Machine Maker sees this event as an essential milestone in deepening Indo-Italian cooperation. By moderating the discussion, Machine Maker aims to guide a conversation that blends technical depth with business relevance, helping participants understand not only what the technology can do but also how it can shape India’s manufacturing journey in the years to come.

As India prepares for the next chapter of industrial growth, collaborations like this are essential to helping manufacturers move beyond incremental improvements and embrace transformative possibilities. This webinar on Additive Manufacturing represents an important step toward that future one where global expertise, local ambition, and shared vision come together to unlock new opportunities for innovation and industrial excellence.
