Ather Energy Limited, India’s leading electric two-wheeler manufacturer, has introduced the Rizta in Sri Lanka during the Colombo Motor Show 2025. The rollout, in partnership with Evolution Auto Pvt. Ltd., Ather’s official distributor in the country, supports the company’s wider international expansion plan aimed at strengthening its product offering and charging infrastructure in key overseas markets.
Ather made its entry into Sri Lanka in December 2024 with the Ather 450X and has since steadily grown its retail footprint to 40 Experience Centres operated by Evolution Auto. To encourage EV adoption, the company has also deployed Ather Grid fast-charging points, enabling convenient and dependable charging access.
“Sri Lanka has swiftly emerged as a strong growth market since our entry last year,” said Ravneet Singh Phokela, Chief Business Officer, Ather Energy Limited. “Rizta has already earned solid traction in India and Nepal, and we are confident it will become a preferred mobility option for Sri Lankan families. Its rider-centric safety features and connected technology offer a modern commuting experience tailored for daily use.”
The Rizta offers a spacious and comfortable ride, featuring a wide seating layout and 34 litres of under-seat storage along with a roomy floorboard. Safety is enhanced through Ather’s SkidControl™ technology. It is equipped with a 7-inch TFT display and supports connected features including navigation via Google Maps, music and call controls (available on the Rizta Z).
Ather has been growing its overseas presence since entering Nepal in late 2023, where it currently operates 9 Experience Centres and 7 Service Centres. In India, the company’s network as of September 30, 2025 includes 524 Experience Centres and 3,643 Ather Grid fast-charging stations.
Founded in 2013 by Tarun Mehta and Swapnil Jain, Ather Energy Limited is recognized as a pioneer in India’s electric two-wheeler segment. The company designs and manufactures performance-oriented electric scooters, offering two product families: the Ather 450 series and the family-focused Ather Rizta range. Ather was the first two-wheeler manufacturer in India to deploy a proprietary fast-charging network. Globally, as of September 30, 2025, the company has installed 4,322 Ather Grid and Neighborhood chargers. Its strong innovation culture is reinforced by a growing intellectual property portfolio comprising hundreds of registered and pending patents, trademarks, and designs.
